They walked through the winding hallways, towards the great hall. Sophie had imagined all of the paintings, and the knights lining the halls, but she still wasn't prepared for all of the moving around they did.

She saw a stubby knight running through a painting, and two drunk ladies laughing in another. Some scholars stared at Sophie and Annabeth, and one of the drunken ladies started to try and flirt with Fitz.

A red-haired ghost bounced through the halls, dropping smoke bombs on the first years. One hit the Asian boy - Frank, she thought she had heard someone call him - and he started to cough something terrible. Sophie expected Minnie to yell at the ghost, but she just smiled sadly and continued onward.

The group reached the great hall, and as soon as they crossed through the doorway, the once loud and chaotic hall became quiet and calm. The elves, demigods, and first years, made their way to the front of the hall. She heard the young kids, and Keefe, gasping when they saw the ceiling. Sophie leaned over to Keefe and whispered in his ear, "It's bewitched to look like the sky outside. I read about it in Hogwarts, A History." Keefe turned to her, bewildered.

"How did you know that?" He demanded.

"Like I said," Sophie smiled. "There were books." The group reached the front, where the teacher's table rested. Minnie pulled a stool forward, waved her wand a few times, and a brown hat appeared on the stool. Sophie couldn't believe it. That was the sorting hat! She was going to find out once and for all, what house she belonged in. This was very exciting!

The Brown hat opened its mouth and began to sing.

One thousand years ago this story starts

There were four sorcerers with strong and kind hearts

Bold Gryffindor from wild moor

Fair Ravenclaw from glen

Sweet Hufflepuff from valley broad

Shrewd Slytherin from fen

They had a dream to teach all that they knew

Witches and wizards came far and it grew

'Til a castle stood tall by the shores of a lake

And a thousand years later the magic remains

Old Hogwarts Sorting Hat sing me a song

Speak in my head tell me where I belong

And when things look bad and there's nowhere to run

Unite all the houses and we'll fight as one

Brave Godric Gryffindor favored the strong

Those who had the courage and knew right from wrong

And Rowena Ravenclaw taught only the best

So kind Helga Hufflepuff would teach all the rest

But Salazar Slytherin had is own plans

He thought the Muggle-borns didn't understand

The subtleties of magic and so he devised

The Chamber of Secrets with a monster inside

Old Hogwarts Sorting Hat sing me a song

Speak in my head tell me where I belong

And when things look bad and there's nowhere to run

Unite all the houses and we'll fight as one
