"I don't care!" I cried as my head hit the table. Groaning, I heard Morgan and Isabella giggling while I am sure Chloe was sitting beside me shaking her head. Slowly sitting up, I glared at the silverware sitting in front of me. "Scarlett, this is important. We must start checking off the details for your wedding! We have four weeks and should have been planning a year ago!" Jone said, narrowing her eyes on me.
"If it's such a big deal why isn't Nikolai sitting beside me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Nikolai will be included in the portions of the ceremony where he is needed. However, the finer details are not something that men typically make good choices on," Jone explained. She then reached forward and picked up the three sets of silverware. One was gold with black handles, one was silver with gold swirls, and the final choice was gold with silver specs. "Now, which one will be used at your first dinner?" she asked.
"I'm pretty sure Nikolai would be complaining less then Sam," Morgan said, causing Chloe to smile and Isabella to burst out laughing.
"He'd have chosen the silverware and the proper matching napkins by now," Isabella said.
I pointed to my two friends. "Jone! Listen to them! Go get Nikolai and make him choose. Like they said he'd be better," I argued. Jone held my stare for a few moments before I sighed and dropped my argument. "None of these," I said, earning raised eyebrows. "We'll use the solid gold silverware from my coronation, then the three plates will be the black one on bottom and two white ones on top. For napkins we'll use the silk rose napkins with twine and dried blueberry plants to tie the napkins. The cups will be the glass goblets and we will go with the cream tablecloths," I said, earning shocked looks. I held up my hand. "For the appetizer we will serve raspberry infused vinaigrette mixed berry salad alongside deconstructed bruschetta and to drink a white grape juice. For the main course we'll have herb roasted chicken breast with pasta punainen and garlic bread with the guest choice of another glass of white grape juice or freshly squeezed lemonade. For desert we'll serve a raspberry cheesecake with a chocolate drizzle. Make sure that the chefs know not to have any strawberries as King Tathrow is allergic and we are just back on good terms," I said, with a deep sigh. Jone nodded in approval. She pulled out her checklist and I quickly stood. "You said once we decided upon the tableware and food that we could be done for the day. I am going to have dinner with my brothers and sleep in my own bed," I said. Then started walking for the door. "I'll be back after breakfast for more," I called over my shoulder, quickly exiting before I could be dragged in for more.
"Sam!" Nikolai's voice called. I spun around in the hall stopping and crossing my arms. "Uh-oh, what happened?" he asked cautiously.
I glared at him as he approached me. "You! You are what happened! Or should I say what didn't happen! I had to suffer through choosing all the little details because men just can't be trusted," I said, lightly pounding my fist on his chest.
He laughed, caught my hands and pulled me close. "I promise that next time you have to sit with Jone and make decisions I will be right there beside you. Then we'll see who can't be trusted with little details," he said.
"Me, that would be me," I said, smiling as his laughter lifted my spirits. "I have to head back to the compound. Want to walk me?" I asked.
He nodded, releasing me and taking my hand. "I would be honored to be trusted with such a detail," he smirked.
"No! Out! You are not welcome here," Alakay called sauntering over to Nikolai and I as we walked in.
"Well, okay then, I guess I'll head back to the castle with Nikolai," I said, going to turn us around.
My arm was grabbed and I was pulled from Nikolai's grasp. "You are welcome here, he isn't," James said, still holding my arm.
"We have hardly seen you since you got home. Tonight we are celebrating your return. He had you today and will have you forever once your wedding happens," Kole said.
