Draco is forced by Snape to stay in Hogwarts for his own protection, but he can't leave the room he is given; Granger's room. Hermione is the only student trusted with this information, so her and Malfoy share the small space, and Draco tries to avoid insanity as he becomes increasingly isolated with only the Mudblood for company. Review:

If you're new to the world of Dramione, I would 100% recommend Isolation as a first read. It was the first Dramione I picked up, and now I'm over forty fics in with no end in sight. Bex-chan does an amazing job of characterizing Hermione and Draco (as well as some other fan favorite characters), and the plot she sets up is extremely unique and leads to deliciously tense situations. Just when the pace slows down about halfway through, a wrench is thrown into the story and it picks back up even quicker than it began. I will say that it's not as slow burn as I would prefer, but Bex still is able to keep an enthralling dynamic between D and H even after they've established their feelings. The smut is pretty standard, which is fine with me because I could go without it. Isolation is definitely a comfort fic for me, and I would without a doubt recommend it to anyone interested.
