Hermione felt the pounding in her ears again. She would see him for the first time since the Great Hall, gaunt and stricken at the Slytherin table with his mother clutching his arm. She hadn't meant to look for him. Not in the corridors, not beneath the white sheets of the fallen, not on the way to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron, but she was a stupid girl.

My summary:

Hermione has been working at the ministry ever since her last year at Hogwarts. She seems to have her shit together until Draco Malfoy gets a job there as well. Hermione has had a slight crush on Draco, so she isn't quite sure what to expect. What she certainly doesn't predict is becoming involved in his family affairs and becoming more than just acquaintances.

Review:

I put TRTTD and ATWT together because I honestly think of them as one book. Like I mentioned in my review of The Auction, these fics are what would happen to Dramione if Voldemort lost the Battle of Hogwarts. If you really want to read The Auction but don't want to read something too depressing, this is the perfect fic to read instead. I know a lot of people who have only read TA, which makes me a little sad, because they are seriously missing out. If I had to marry a Draco from any ff, I would marry TRTTD Draco a hundred percent. Mans has my heart. Like TA, these two fics are the perfect amount of slow burn and are everything you need in a Dramione fic and more.
