Shuichi sat crying in his room. He hasn't left his room for about three days after Kaede's execution. He's barely gotten any sleep and he was really hungry, but he just wanted to be isolated by himself away from the others.
He thought about how everyone probably hates him for uncovering the truth of Rantaro's murder. Heck he got punched by Kaito because he didn't do anything about trying to stop Monokuma executing Kaede...
He kept thinking and crying until he heard a slight knock on his door. He stopped and looked at his bedroom door.
Shuichi's POV:
"It's eight o'clock in the morning, who could be up at this time, and why come to my room?" I thought. "Could someone be here to murder me? What should I do?" What even is there to do...
The knock came once more. "C-come in..." I answered.
The door slightly opened to reveal... Kiyo? What could he want with me...
"K-kiyo?, what are you doing here?" I asked him. "I apologize for bothering you this early Saihara." He said as he came closer and sat down on the bed beside me. "I just wanted to see if you we're alright, you haven't left your room for a few days now."
He surprisingly had a worried expression, which to me was kinda odd since he doesn't seem to have any care about others.
"The others are kinda worried about you since you started keeping yourself away from us after what happened to Kaede."
Shuichi thought about what Kiyo just said. The others are worried about him? Why though...
"W-Why should they be worried about me? I'm clearly the reason that Kaede is dead." He told him, almost tearing up. "It's not all your fault Saihara, if it mostly wasn't for you, we could all be dead." Kiyo said, as Shuichi tried to process everything in his head.
"I-" before Shuichi could even reply, he immediately froze. The flashbacks from Kaede's execution came back to him, and tears started to roll down his cheeks. Kiyo look a bit shocked and concerned about his behavior.
Korekiyo's POV:
I stared at the detective who suddenly just froze up. He was shaking so much and crying too hard. I only just came to make sure he was okay, but now I can see that Kaede's death had really affected him physically and mentally.
Kiyo thought for a moment of what to do calm the smaller male down. He got an idea that could work.
Without hesitating, he gently pulled the small detective into a hug. Shuichi was shocked from what was happening.
"I know how you feel, losing someone that you've trusted is truly heartbreaking." Kiyo started to gently stroke Saihara's back as the detective cried into Kiyo's shoulder. Slowly, the smaller male started to calm down. Kiyo let Saihara go and tried to cover his face with his mask. Shuichi did see how kiyo's face was turning a little red.
A minute passes and the anthropologist gets up and heads to the door. "If your ready to come out, I'll be waiting outside your door for you." Kiyo said, before walking out of the room.
Shuichi sat there for a minute or two and then decided to get up and leave. He met Kiyo outside and started walking with him to the dinning hall.
As they were walking, Shuichi could've sworn that he looked at Kiyo and noticed his face turn a little red every minute...

So this was my first Fanfic and I know it's probably a little cringey... But I wanted to try making a story for the first time, so I hope you at least enjoyed it ☺.
