Cole stood up with a low growl, "Fine, you want him, come get him!" The white-haired man, who Chase assumed was Leon, let out a hearty laugh. He laughed for several minutes, his face to the sky with his right hand placed upon it as if holding a mask in place.
When Leon lowered his head, half of his face was still hidden by his hand but the other... The other side revealed a savage smile and eyes filled with wild ferocity and glee. As he dropped his hand there was a sudden weight to the air it caused Cole to drop down onto a knee and made it hard for Chase to breathe as he lay upon the ground. "Aww, come on Cole I haven't even got started yet." Leon sounded almost disappointed by Coles struggling against the mysterious weight.
"That's enough Leon, let them up," Tyler's voice rang out calmly as he walked up the hill towards the three. Leon's wild expression faltered.
"And should I refuse?" Leon growled out as Tyler calmly stood in front of him. Chase stared on, amazed that Tyler could stand unperturbed by the crushing weight of the air.
"Should you refuse to comply old friend, then we might just get to find out which of us is truly stronger," Tyler spoke in a calm tone. His hands clenched and a new power surged into the air, it did not feel hostile but as if one were to stand in a cool rain after a long hot summers day, peaceful and calming. The two powers clashed in a dance that seemed to go on for eternity, almost as if it were just a sibling argument. An argument that had occurred countless times before and made their bond stronger.
Chase winced as a sudden pain marched through his head. When he opened his eyes again after the sudden pain had faded, the beauty of the scene before him would forever remain in his mind. Tyler stood in a swirling vortex of lazily floating Cherry-Blossoms. Leon stood under what looked like a raging storm, angry red flashes of lightning split the darkness of the clouds around him. The scene so serene and powerful lit a spark inside of Chase as he stared on with childlike wonder and amazement.
Cole watched Tyler and Leons stare off, unsure of what to do. Suddenly a third power flared up, or at least the faintest memory of power. Barely able to move with the pressure of both Tyler and Leon. Cole tried to look for the new power, knowing the other two were too focused to notice. Cole didn't even get to turn his head, as Chase who had been on his back beside him, walked towards the two people locked in a clash of power. Cole tried to yell out to him and get his attention but found himself unable.
Chase lost in memories of ages long past, traveled forward in a daze. Lost in worlds long past and far beyond the reach of mortal hands.
Unsure of what to do, Cole opened his third eye to see what was happening. He saw the powers of Tyler and Leon clashing, but Chase... his power, while at first faint, was growing!
Memories of rage, sorrow, love, and family flooded Chase's mind. Emotions, experiences, entire lives danced before his eyes as though a movie played in his mind. As memories flooded his mind questions began to arise, 'Why is there so much pain?' 'Why so much anger?' 'What kind of monster was I?' These questions rang out like explosions in the serenity that had caused these memories to emerge.
Cole watched as Chase's aura began to spike as he seemed to grow angry, confused, hurt, and scared. Realizing the kid was getting too much information at once, Cole knew he had to do something to stop this. As he scrambled to come up with an idea, Cole remembered 'I am Damascus, Harbinger Dragon of Darkness.' With a quick reflexive release and a deep breath, Cole closed his eyes.
From within Chase's mind, Damascus tried to calm the boy. A low gravelly voice roared out in the draconic tongue, "Damascus! If you can hear me, you must stop the boy! He is on the verge of destroying himself, and if you have done what I think you have... it means you'll go with him!"
Recognizing the voice, Damascus surged to the surface of Chase's mind, grabbing control from him. Turning back, Damascus's eyes looked at the form of Cole still kneeling under the weight of the clash happening around them. The Crimson eyes that stared back... there was no mistaking it... Granite, The Great Mountain Wyrm of the East, his Brother.
As the two looked at each other, reunited after so long. it made them wonder where the third brother might be found, but now was not the time to go in search. Suddenly the pressure lifted, and there was a slap of hands coming together.
Tyler and Leon smiled at each other and laughed, as old friends would. When they turned to see Damascus and Granite blinking at them, the two laughed harder than they had before. After a few moments of laughing, Tyler instructed Damascus to take the kid inside. They would sort out his new powers and memories later, but for now, he needed rest.
Sometime later that afternoon, Chase woke with a splitting headache. As he sat up and looked around, it was the same room he had awoken in before. Chase couldn't quite place it but, he felt... different. He could feel a strength deep inside him, that wasn't present before. Then the memories flooded back into his mind. But this time no power came, no questions, just a single line, uttered to the winds. "My name... is Fulcrum."
