That night was tiring to say the least. Sam ended up inviting a lot of guys. Six to be exact. If I remember correctly, their names were Jared, Paul, Quil, Embry, Jacob, and Seth. And there was one girl, Seth's sister, Leah. She was nasty. Absolutely nasty. But everyone else was pretty enjoyable. Apparently, they all lived on the reservation. Which was pretty cool. Being around all that laughing and joking made me miss my friends though. So, when I could finally sneak away, I went upstairs and decided to write a letter.
Dear Harry,
How are you? How is everyone? You, Hermione, and Ron are still friends, right? I know things were getting rough before I left. I'm sure things are heating up in the Wizarding World, aren't they? Is Fudge still telling everyone you're lying? I can't subscribe to the Daily Prophet here. If you ever need any help with any of this. Voldemort, Fudge, hell, even students, let me know? I'm still licensed. I can apparate to Hogsmeade anytime. Just say the words.
Things are okay here. A little crazy. I miss you all so much. Even Ron! Merlin, second night here and I'm already homesick. I've made a friend, her name's Angela. She's really cool. She's kind, and pretty, and funny, and smart. We skipped half the school day today and ate at a small diner. It was amazing.
Anyway, the reason I'm writing. There's a boy that goes to school with me now. His name is Edward Cullen. He looks EXACTLY like Ced. Like, threw me into a panic attack, exactly like Ced. I don't know. It was just horrible. I thought I'd write to you because I realized you may understand why this is so shaking for me. I don't know. Maybe I just miss you guys.
Either way, give my love to the others. Yes, even Ron.
Much love,
CarmenP.S. make sure you feed Red. She'll be travelling a long way for you.
Just as I finished the letter, my door opened behind me. I turned around in my seat, shoving the letter into my jacket pocket. It was one of Sam's friends standing at the door. One of the ones that looked about my age. He was wearing a leather jacket over a grey t-shirt. Along with a pair of old blue jeans.
"I'm sorry." He said with widened eyes, "I was looking for the bathroom. Obviously not the right door."
"Yeah, no, um, it's the next door." He started walking out, but I realized something.
"Wait! There's a bathroom downstairs..." I said and walked over to him.
"Yeah...there is, isn't there?" There's a bit of a shake in his voice now, like he's been caught, "Look, I'm sorry. I just- I saw you downstairs and I thought you were really pretty. And then I watched you come up here and- and I wanted to introduce myself. That's all." He said, taking a step back.
I looked him over again, now that I was closer, he was taller than me. Had that same tan, reddish skin everyone else downstairs had. His hair was black and short. He was buff, not as buff as Sam, but pretty close. And he had strikingly white teeth. Like, bright white teeth.
"So...are you going to introduce yourself?" I asked.
"Oh! Yeah, um...I'm Jacob. Jacob Black."
"You're the one who's fixing a car for me!"
"Yes...they told you about me?"
"Just that one of Sam's friends named Jacob Black is fixing a car for me."
He took a minute to process that, "Well, friend is a pretty strong term." He said with a smile.
"So, you're good with cars?"
