Shigaraki Tomura's Backstory:

'Shit.' The crusty man thought.

"What's so important about Shigaraki's backstory?" Sero asked. "Hush now, it's starting."

'Perhaps we'll learn some information that could be valuable to us in the future.'

The video began to play.

*I skipped a bit forward in the video* 

"So Shigaraki is the grandson of Nana Shimura, who was a powerful hero and master to a certain symbol of peace."

"You're related to All Might's mentor, Handy-man?" 

"...Unfortunately."

"His actual legal name is Tenko Shimura and as a child he lived with his parents, his sister, and his grandparents. Though obviously his grandparents on the other side of his family."

"Awww, you looked so cute when you were younger, Tomura-kun." Toga told him enthusiastically, right in his ear. The other let out an annoyed "whatever" while rubbing his ear.

"Now this household was somewhat dysfunctional, given that Shigaraki's father had an intense hatred for heroes."

"Hah! Relatable." Yelled the scarred villain, Dabi. Several people turned to look at him, but he just flipped them off.

"This hatred was born out of the fact that his mother, Nana Shimura, had died whilst fighting All for One when he was just a young boy. But despite his father's ideology, young Tenko had a fascination with heroes and held dreams of becoming one. In fact he even went as far as to say that his father's rules regarding heroes denied him everything that he was. Those are the words of someone who really really wants to be a hero."

"If he wanted to be a hero so much, why didn't he."

'Damn, me too.'

"This fascination led to Shigaraki being frequently beaten, locked outside the house, and generally just being made to feel worthless."

Multiple gasps could be heard throughout the theater. 

"HOW CRUEL!" Inko gasped. "No one should ever treat their children like that, no matter what you don't like about them!" Tomura looked over at her, she reminded him of his mother.

"Also despite being of the age, Tenko never appeared to manifest any quirk, at least until he was brought home one day by this guy in a suit. Hmmmmm..."

"Could AFO have given Shigaraki his quirk? But why, what was he hoping for?" - Deku & All Might

"What? Did he cause all this to happen? Was all this some part of his grand scheme? Did he make those people ignore me on the streets?" - Shigaraki
