(Delaney's living room)

I reach home after a long exhausting day. My dad picked me up obviously since the distance from school to my house is a bit long. I go to the living room to put my bag on the gray-colored couch and proceed to the bathroom to wash my face. I then make my way to the kitchen to make some food for myself.

"I want that file done!" I jerk my head around and see my dad on his phone. I didn't even realize he was in the kitchen the whole time. He shouts at the person on the other side of the call then he furious taps on his phone puts it away.

"Sorry, did I scare you, sweetie?" He asks with concern.

"No no you didn't." Yes, he did.

Don't get me wrong, I love my dad a lot. He's the sweetest dad ever, and he is protective of me but when it comes to anger, I guess you can say that he's the king of anger? It is not in a good way though.

He kisses my forehead, and as he goes out of the kitchen, he stops, as if he forgot to tell me something.

"Almost forgot, by the way, we're going over to an old friend of mine. We'll be having dinner there." He states.

"Do I know him?" I ask as I heat my chicken in the microwave.

"You met him once when you were a child." He says.

Is it?

"Ah okay," I reply.

He makes his way out of the kitchen. I need to check how Rosa is doing, I was thinking. I take my phone out and send a quick text to her. We exchanged numbers before we parted ways, after school. I ask her how she is doing, but she hasn't seen my message yet, so I wait for her reply. She replies after a few minutes and I read her text. She tells me her father is still unconscious. I tell her that I hope he gets well soon. I can see how dejected she is right now.

Suddenly I hear the doorbell ring. I wonder who that is. I rush to the door and open it.

"Eric?" I look at him, stunned.

He stands there smiling at me. So cute, I was thinking. He is tall, possibly of a height of 6'0.

"Surprise, I'm your neighbor." He chuckles nervously, whilst scratching the back of his head.

Wow...

"Oh my God, come in!" I open the door further to allow him to enter.

He comes in, closing the front door behind him. I tell him to sit down, and he does.

"How do you know I live here?" I ask him.

"I saw your father getting out of the penthouse, and so I assumed you live here too." He responds to my question.

"You made a good assumption then." I laugh a little.

He looks at his surroundings nervously, then his eyes make way at my necklace. He looks at it for a while before saying something.
