Chapter 5

'Are you ready?'

My phone buzzed, only to notify me the message from Alec. 

Today was the event he was taking me to. He said it was a big function where.. his mom wanted him to attend it. So, he had asked me whether I could accompany him. And I obviously didn't see any why not in it. So, here I was almost ready for the event. My make up was done. I purposely put on the dark red lipstick. It looked great. I had put on extra efforts for my look today. My hair were loose open flashing my curls. I wore a purple long velvet gown, which was sleeveless and the front of the neck flashed some of my cleavage. It was somewhat revealing, but not much. And it went well for the occasion too.. so why not?

I immediately send him a message saying I was done, and he could pick me up anytime now.

'Be there in 10. x' he replied within seconds.

Till the time, I grabbed my black heels and looked at my reflection once again in the mirror. I sure looked different.. sexy?

I heard the doorbell and I went to open the front door only to reveal the green eyed boy in a black suit and tie. His hair was styled back and seemed like he had put more efforts today. But boy did he look good. 

He stood there taking up my appearance from head to toe. And he smiled showing his pearly white and his cute dimples. He was looking very attractive. He looks good daily, but today a lot more. 

He rubbed his back of the neck, he looked nervous. Somehow that made him look even more attractive. "Fuck, you look so... beautiful." he said smiling. His nervous smile...

"Thank you"  I couldn't help but smile with him. "You don't look bad yourself" and he smiled even more.

He came forward taking my hand with his and we went through the door locking it towards his car. A limo was waiting outside my house and I was stunned to see such a beauty.. that it was supposed to be our ride. 

He lead me towards the back seat of the car, opening the door for me. And made himself inside the car too. He was really making efforts. Very much being a gentleman. I adored that about him. 

I know I like him. Maybe more than like like him more than just a friend. But I knew that was it. I was not looking for a relationship with anyone. Not with him, nor anyone else. 

I hope he keeps that in mind and just not make any move in that direction. I can't do that with him. But he already knew it. I had told him multiple times before associating with him. And I hope he doesn't expect more from me.

In the car we talked about random stuffs from college and he told me his funny childhood stories. While in there, he never left my hand. Not that I complained. But something told me, this may not be good.

The event was so lavishing. I had never been to one in my entire life. It was the fashion event where Alec's mom too received an award like many others. She was a popular designer and her brands were well known in the entire NYC and America. The glittery event was a bit overwhelming considering the guests were such big celebrities. 

There were people we talked to. A few of them took my number too. 

It went very well.

We congratulated Alec's mom and made our way to dance. 

He pulled me close. His hands on my waist and mine automatically made their way to his neck. Too close. I good smell his expensive cologne. He smelled good.

I had a good height. And also had my heels on, so there wasn't that huge height difference between us. 

"Enjoying the night so far?" he whispered.

"Very much." I looked and smiled at him. "Thank you for taking me."

It truly was a great night. The presentations, performances, so many big stars all around.. how could you not enjoy it.

"You're welcome." he said, flashing his own smile.

"You look so beautiful tonight..." he said looking in my eyes. He told me this before, didn't he? But that didn't stop my blush to flash over.

"Um.. uh.. Can I kiss you?" he suddenly asked, stuttering.

Instead of answering him, I leaned forward and kissed him. He cupped my cheeks and ran his thumb slowly on my cheek and jaw. I smiled when I pulled away.

It didn't last long but it felt good.

"I wanted to ask you something... from a long time actually..." he asked nervously. 

Why did I feel I knew what he was about to ask. Since a while he had tried to tell me something, but we always got interrupted. Or he paused himself telling me any further. 

He liked me. I know that. Did he want to take this further? 

I know I didn't want to. I can never give him what he wants. That's a name to name this relationship. I can't.

"I like you Jen. I like you so much...i- it hurts. I know you've always told me you never wanted a relationship with me. I agree.. I do.. I- I did.. but since these past few days.. I can't help but think. Fuck.." he looked like he was trying hard to open up "I-I can't stop thinking about you all the time. The way you smile when you talk about your dreams, the way you laugh at my lamest jokes, the way you don't care about a thing in the world. I like the way your eyes shine bright when you look at food." he chuckled lightly "I want to be the reason behind all those adorable smiles and laughs of yours..." he paused and inhaled slowly "My heart skips a beat every time you are around me. And I know you like me too." then he paused for a second "So.. so um.....

Jen, will you be my girlfriend?" he said finally.

A/N- Oh so he said finally. What will be her reaction?
