Chapter 8
“Come on, please,” John begged.
“No!” I snapped walking away toward the lake.
“But I wanna join you,” John said taking a few steps after me.
“I would like to have some privacy please,” I said calmly.
John sighed defeated, “Fine, be careful.”
I nodded and walked towards the lake. I stopped at the bank and stripped down and I dipped my toes into the water. It was chilly and I walked backwards and ran and dove into the water. I gasped out as I resurfaced and I shivered. I swam around and then I turned stomach up and gazed at the stars. I swam up to rocks I rested my head on the surface and my body still floating on water. I gazed at the stars, they seemed to lull me to a sense of serenity and before I knew I was asleep.
I moaned and I opened my eyes, my head was swaying back and forth. I leaned up and saw John on his horse walking. I moaned again and I tried shifted only in succeeding in sliding off the horse and hit the ground.
“Ow!” I moaned rubbing my butt.
“Are you okay?” John asked concern flashing in his eyes.
“Yeah, why was I laying on the horse like that?
“You were asleep I didn’t want to wake you, thank goodness you are a hard sleeper.”
I glared at him, “Why would you say that?”
“Uh… because I sort of dropped you several times trying to get you onto the horse,” John muttered.
I inhaled and exhaled trying to control the surge of anger. John squatted in front of me smiling and my eye twitched.
“Why are you smiling?” I whispered through my teeth.
“Because I am proud of you, you are trying to control the anger, that is one of the things that triggers the transformation. The collar will shock you if you transform.” John said and leaned forward pressing his lips on my forehead.
“I love you,” he whispered and pulled me up.
“Yeah yeah,” I said but I kissed his lips once and I straddled the horse the right way and we were off into the direction that John wanted to go.
“We are almost there another two days ride.” John said.
“Okay,” I groaned.
