Kevin Wayne Durant
Kyrie Andrew Irving
And a lot more (Lebron, Jimmy, Derrick, Spencer, DeAndre, Bruce etc)
Ahh Los Angeles the city of angels, filled to the brim with rich pop-stars, cameras watching your every step, there were the rich and the poor and a clear separation between both groups, the privilege was thick in the air even more viscus than the humidity, big houses were gated and paparazzi was around every corner- Kevin Durant absolutely....
HATED it here.
The only reason he was here was for the beaches and for his brother, Tony Durant who was in close proximity to a very successful Real-Estate career. So he had spent a majority of his time at the beach to drown out the noise of these big mouthed celebrities and their prim and proper silk scarves.
The closest beach, a 20 minute walk away was Iverson's All-Star Beach, it had a long boardwalk by a street and upon the street was a row of buildings and restaurants.
What he really enjoyed doing to his entire family's amazement was surf. Durant loved the wind on his skin and the sound of the water rippling against his board as the sun hit his skin. But he was an introvert, he liked to mind his own business, not engaging in small talk or anything.
He liked it straightforward and genuine, don't talk just to talk. So every morning he would catch the breezy waves and make his way back home in a dark hoodie enjoying the crisp bristle from the air and the woody sidewalk as he observed the little shops open up on the street.
Every morning at the same time, the flower shop lady would put out a display of tiger lilies, the yellow dimmed lights on the balcony of Big Face Coffee would open up, a bird would settle on the rooftop of the pizza shop and a distant sound of rippling rocks would come closer and closer until Kevin would see a guy peacefully on a skateboard, always looking forward, skull candy earphones on, sometimes he hummed a little tune.
Something about that guy captivated Durant, knowing the stranger would probably never tilt his head to the boardwalk to look at him- but always look to the same goal, so focused yet so relaxed Kevin was always looking forward to seeing this stranger every day.
He just didn't seem stuck-up like the rest of them, but who was he to determine that? He never even talked to him.
