A gentle, soothing haze of white swathed the atmosphere of planet Rainoh, its late afternoon light beginning to diminish slowly and deliberately as the sun lowered itself down. Everything in sight was topped with the bright, fluffy whiteness; from the railings of your balcony, to the countless cozy structures beyond the palace, to the monumental mountains surrounding the city of Itath. From where you stood idly, ice-cold fingers enclosed by pleasantly fuzzy gloves gripping onto the sides of your personal balcony, you observed the occurrences down below.

Civilians, ranging from humans to a vast variety of species, trekked through the snow-filled streets either by foot or mounted on their own private speeder. People returning to their homes following an extensive day indulged in work were greeted by their families—whom you paid most attention to in particular. Children assisted their parents in shoveling out excess snow from their house's entrances and exits, who would soon afterwards undoubtedly be rewarded with a hot drink to keep them warm and a few hours of frolicking in the snow, hurling snowballs towards each other and building snowmen. The shouts of delight from the kids enjoying themselves were audible, even with the distance and altitudes you were at. Frozen lips curling upwards into a soft grin, you found yourself wondering if you would ever obtain a chance of a life like that, whether you could feel lively once more.

The notion seemed far-fetched, improbable, highly unlikely.

With the burdens of your current responsibilities and future duties of becoming queen of Rainoh, you would never be capable of living such a life filled with simplicity. Instead, what was originally planned for you since the day you were born was a life overwhelmed with tedious politics and the obligation to serve your planet. Soon enough, those liabilities would be entirely surrendered to nobody other than you, as soon as the queen retired from her rule.

Yet you couldn't possibly bring yourself to care.

Your brain was not pondering over your future, enthusiastic to fulfill your upcoming title as queen. Quite the opposite, actually. Rather than wondering about the hectic life ahead of you, you were left thinking about nothing other than Din Djarin. Despite the time that had passed by sluggishly and arduously slow—an entire month—you couldn't bring yourself to erase the thoughts about the Mandalorian whom you forced out of your life, couldn't contemplate over anything other than him. Your everyday life felt empty, dull, and monotonous without him. You recognized that the only way your state would improve was if he returned, but that was beyond the bounds of possibilities at the time. If he truly wished to come back, he would've done so already because you knew him; stubborn and hard-headed, he wouldn't have given up if that was against his desire, no matter how many times you told him to back off and get the hell off of Rainoh. You wholeheartedly repented your decision that pestering night since the moment he walked out the door and never stepped through it again. It had been too late for regrets, though, but you couldn't accept the fact yourself.
