I'm extremely tense and afraid, I am not that well put together today, yes I look astonishing but emotionally wise I am terrified. All I have to do is get to know almost every man I feel is a good suitor, it's an easy task but I have to be cautious about who I am talking to, men hide a lot of secrets and I have to make sure that they tell me the truth about who they are.
My parents and I are greeted at the door and then we proceed to enter and walk in a well-mannered way to the ballroom.
"This is the most important ball, first impressions are everything" says my mother, she starts to tear up a little, "you have grown up too fast Ruby."
"Good luck Pumpkin" my father tells me just before we enter the ballroom. The ballroom is very immense, it too has a chandelier like our dining area at home but about 100 times more grand.I look around at all the people wondering to myself who I should make conversation with first, I see a young man wearing a very polished suit, he looks like a successful man so I start to walk over to him. The man turns and looks at me, I continue to walk to him arriving I front of him. We look into each other's eyes.
"You're eyes are a gorgeous emerald green m'lady" he says with a small smile, he has a handsome face with big, bright, ocean blue eyes. His pupils are large and intriguing.
"Thank you kind sir. Might I ask you what your name is?" I say to him as our eyes are still tightly locked together.
"Oh yes, I am Prince Calvin Woods. And you m'lady are?" I freeze, HE'S A FUCKING PRINCE!!!??? I stand there with my jaw dropped somehow our eyes still on each other's. I suddenly realise I haven't answered the question.
"Uhh, I-I'm Lady Ruby Vincent" I give him a smile and a short giggle. He looks me up and down with a smirk, his arm pops up with his hand out.
"Would you like to dance with me, Lady Ruby Vincent?" he says to me, I don't want to say yes because we have only spoken for a few moments and it will make me seem desperate for him, but I want to say yes and I have to say yes for my parents sake.
"I would love to dance with you, Prince Calvin Woods" I say as I put my hand on his. His hand is soft and gives off a feeling of safety and security, we head for the dance floor and begin to waltz around the room others joining in and most people staring at us. At first I don't know why they are staring, maybe I have something on my face or... then it hits me. I'M DANINCING WITH A GOD DAMN FUCKING PRINCE!!! As the music stops and our dance comes to an end I'm suddenly pulled away from Calvin, our eyes finally unlocked for the first time since we met only a short few minutes ago. I can't see Calvin anymore just a lot of girls screaming his name.I turn around to meet my parents who in total shock.
"You danced with a prince" my mother says with wide eyes.
"My, my Pumpkin. I told you you were irresistible but I didn't think you were that irresistible that a prince would dance with you" says my father, I have no idea if what he said was a compliment or an insult but I don't care because my parents are happy and I may have found the love of my life.
