Sutāraito grabbed my shoulders gently and turned me so I was looking at him. "You know that I care about you right, and over the last five years me and you have been best friends, and nothing could ever change that right?" He said softly. "Yah of course." I smiled at him. "Ok...then I am just going to say this... a-are you a half breed?" he asked in full seriousness. My eyes widened slightly but then returned to their normal state.
"Sutāraito, why would you think that of course I'm not." I said softer than I usually speak. "Because, sometimes when we hang out outside of school, you don't smell like an ogre...you smell like a ghoul and vampire. And today after school you ran way faster than an ogre ever could." I stayed silent. "Lumi, right now you don't smell like an ogre, only your apartment does. Lumi I care for you and nothing would change if you were. I care about you and I want to know everything about you. Now I will ask you once more and I want the truth...Are you a half breed?" He said softly.
As he spoke my heart slowly started to hurt from all the times that I had to lie to my best friend, my only friend. I looked at him and I'm sure my face said all that needed to be said. Sutāraito pulled me into a hug and we stayed there for what felt like forever but i'm sure that it was only a couple of seconds; and to be honest I didn't want it to end. Sutāraito leaned down and whispered in my ear "I am going to go to my place and grab clothes. I will be back in thirty with an extra hoodie, and I expect you to be here." He then got up and walked out of my apartment.
After a few minutes I got up and opened my closet door. "I'm sorry but you two have to go home Sutāraito will be back in less than thirty minutes. Don't worry I will see you two tomorrow." Hina hugged me and put the mask I gave her back on. We got ready to leave. Leo picked Hina up, and I opened the door. We ran back to their place, and once we got inside Hina gave me the mask and hoodie. "Thanks for letting me borrow this." I nodded and said "No problem, I have to go but see you tomorrow or the day after." I gave them both a hug and left.
When I got back to my apartment I had about fifteen minutes left till Sutāraito got here, so I threw the hoodie and mask, along with some other of my dirty clothes in the washer to one, wash the clothes and get Hinas scent out and two, so I have clean clothes because I only had one pair left. I sat down on my couch and put my head in my hands. "How could I let him find out...if the hantā find me and figure out he knows about me he will be in deep trouble." I whispered to no one in particular. 'Damn fairies and their good sense of smell.' I thought. I got up and went to the kitchen and got me a bottle of water and a bag of chips for Sutāraito. I practically chugged the whole bottle, because when I get nervous,I get really thirsty.
I threw the bottle away and went to my closet and grabbed an oversized t-shirt and a pair of shorts that the shirt just barely covered. I threw my clothes into my hamper and flung myself onto my bed. I grabbed Mr. Stuffie (my teddy bear that Sutāraito gave me) and hugged him tightly waiting for Sutāraito to get here. I was fully ready for the hantā to knock my door down and kill me, but I was hoping that Sutāraito wouldn't do that to me.
After what felt like an eternity, but was probably five minutes of sitting alone in silence. There was a knock on my door. I groaned as I got up and walked to the door. I looked through the peep-hole, and there was my best friend with a bag that was filled to the brim with clothes, that made it look like he was moving in with me. He also had water, and two shakes. I opened the door slowly. "Come in..." I trailed off. He walked through the door and put the bag in one corner of the room and sat the water next to the bag of chips I put out for him. I shut and locked my door. I walked into my room, grabbed Mr. Stuffie off my bed and headed into the living room. He handed me a shake, which I took but was very confused about.
"Just taste it." He chuckled. I took a small sip of the shake, and it was like nothing I had ever tasted. But it was good. My eyes lit up and I took a huge sip.He chuckled and patted my head. "I thought you might like it." I hummed in contentment and skipped over the the couch, of course with Mr. Stuffie in my arms. He came and sat right beside me. "You know, you act just like a child sometimes." I huffed and took another sip. "No I don't" I finished the shake, and whined in disappointment. I got up and threw the cup away.
