Chapter 2: "Our" Reunion

A/N: Hi guys, hope you are having a good day. Let's continue with the story.

"Se-Serena...."   

"H-hi Ash"

The two teens were just standing there, staring into each other's eyes. It felt to both of them like they had found completeness at that very instant. Serena knew what she was feeling, it was not just a childhood crush or teenage infatuation for her, not anymore. Even in the years that they have been apart, she has never dated any man, for she could never see anyone else the way she sees him. She never expected him to return her feelings, otherwise, the love wouldn't have been true and pure. But she has loved him ever since the fateful day they met in the forest and will continue to till the day she leaves this world. So the feeling of completeness is not strange to her. But the way Ash is staring at her is definitely new and she can't help but blush because of it.

"OMA, why is Ash staring at me like that? Is he finally starting to feel something for me? No Serena, don't raise your expectations. You will be disappointed if they don't come true ", Serena thought.

Ash, on the other hand, had no control over his thoughts or feelings.

"What is this feeling? Why am I feeling so....... so complete? happy? What am I feeling? Why am I feeling this seeing Serena? I mean, I have reunited with my friends before but never have I felt this before? Sure she is prettier than anyone I have ever met and I am feeling attracted to her.. but.. wait WHAT? Prettier? Attracted? Wtf is going on? What should I do? I so want to hug her at this very instant, but what if she feels uncomfortable? What if she is dating someone, and both of them might not like it? She won't date someone right... why wouldn't she? Sure she kissed me 4 years back but that was just an infatuation right?", the last thought made Ash sad, but he kept staring at Serena in awe.

It felt like time had stopped for both of them, as they were frozen in their positions, just staring at each other while contemplating their thoughts. Meanwhile, the other 4 people in the room and Pikachu were smirking seeing the two in awe of each other. Delia also shed a few tears thinking that her boy "had grown up". The two would have continued this staring game but Gary was starting to get a little impatient, after all, he wanted to meet his "sister" Serena. No, Serena was not his real sister but during his visit to Hoenn, he crossed paths with Serena and recognized her from the summer camp. They traveled for a while together, and when Gary heard Serena didn't have a sibling, he assured her that he will be his brother from now on and protect her no matter what. The two crossed paths several times after that and they have a very special bond. Anyways, finally, impatience got the better of Gary and he said, 

"Serry-Berry, it's been a while!!!!". Hearing this, Serena broke out of her trance and noticed Gary. "Oak Tree!! How are you?". Ash chuckled a little at this, however, he was still in awe of Serena and continued to stare at her. 

That is until Gary pulled Serena in a side hug and said, "I am very good. How did the grand festival in Hoenn go?". Serena frowned a little at this, "I lost in the finals". She then cheered up, "But I am not sad. After all, I won't give up until it's over!!!", Serena said, looking at Ash.

Ash cheered up a bit hearing it, however, the sadness of what happened a second ago was too much for him. "Why did Gary and Serena hug each other? And what is with those nicknames? Are they dating each other?", Ash was griefing over these thoughts. Elsewhere, Lillie was having the same thoughts as Ash.

"Why am I feeling so bad about the fact Gary hugged the girl, what was her name, Serry-Berry? I mean, I have just met him. I can't possibly like him right?", thought Lillie.

Professor Oak cleared his throat. "Would you please introduce her to Delia and Lillie, Gary? You and Ash seem to know her very well". "Sure Gramps. Delia, and Lillie, this is my little sister Serena. And no, she is not my real sister. We met at Gramps summer camp and again in Hoenn and since she has no sibling, I decided that I will become his brother.", said Gary.
