Chapter 5: And we are off

Now we shall start from where we left off last time...

The weather in Pallet town during the springtime is quite aesthetic and today is no different. The lush green grass, the clear skies, the sounds of the various bird pokemon chirping and the cries of the other pokemon going about their day in Professor Oak's ranch is quite mesmerizing to look at. However, a certain honey blonde, standing against one of the fences, is more concerned with her thoughts at this moment...

"Why did Ash say that? What did he imply by that? Did he mean to say that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me?"

Serena blushed at this thought, but then she snapped herself back to reality,

"NO WAY!!! Calm down, Serena! He is too dense to say something romantic in a figurative speech, but then what did he mean? Ah, I guess I have to ask him only."

Serena then proceeded to walk around the ranch to calm herself down.

(Meanwhile, with Ash)

Ash had gone unconscious due to the fatigue of using the bond phenomenon after a long time and that too in such an intense battle. He was brought to Oak's lab by Gary and Serena with Professor Oak and Lillie trailing behind. After checking on Ash, Prof. has confirmed that Ash is fine and it's only due to fatigue. But Serena and Pikachu won't leave his side and were very worried. Gary and Prof. had to assure them multiple times that Ash is fine and advised them to go outside to have a break while the others will take care of Ash. Prof. also had to go outside to feed the Pokemon and attend some online meetings. So this leaves us with Ash resting in the bed in Oak's lab with Gary and Lillie sitting there.

"Gary, did you hear what Ash said to Serena before fainting?"

"Yeah..."

"Do you think Ash likes Serena?"

"Maybe, Ash is really good at helping other people with their personal problems. But I don't think he has figured out his feelings."

"Hmm. But I am pretty sure Serena has a thing for Ash."

"Yeah, that's pretty obvious. I mean she is literally a red mess in front of Ash. It takes a single compliment or smile from Ash, and Serena is all messed up, the girl is head over heels for this idiot."

"Yeah, no wonder you and Ash are best friends..."

"What do you mean?", Gary said raising his eyebrow.

"Both of you are idiots."

"HEY!!!"

"Lower the volume, Gary. There's someone resting here.", Lillie scolded Gary and he instantly shut up.

"Can't deny Lillie's orders, she looks so cute and scary when she is angry. Wait, shut up Gary, she has a boyfriend."

Just then, Ash started to stir and slowly opened his eyes,

"Huh... Where am I?"

"Ash/Ashy-boy!!!!"

"Hey guys, how did I reach here? I remember having a battle with Serena and then everything went black. By the way, where are Serena, Pikachu, Greninja, and Professor?", Ash asked.

"Woah! Calm down Ashy-boy. So you passed out after the battle due to the fatigue of using the bond phenomenon. I and Serry-berry carried you here. She and Pikachu were too stressed, so we asked them to go outside and have a walk. Greninja was healed and was having an argument with Charizard the last time I checked and Gramps is doing some important work", Gary explained and Ash nodded in understanding.
