Chapter 9 ~ The shadows that follow (pt. 2)

Eliana's POV:

Everything was spinning, I didn't even know where I was. All I remebered was walking back to Baker Street and someone following me, and then being hit by something in the back of my neck.

Now I'm in a room, not a very large room but by the looks of it it is a cell.

I tried my best to ground myself but the lighting was so bright that I could barely even open my eyes.

The walls and floor were made out of metal, and the door behind me looked very heavy, possibly bullet proofed.

"Well well well, look who's finally awake..." I heard a mysterious voice say.

There were four other people in the room, each one was a security guard standing in a corner.

I looked over my shoulder, the voice was coming from a man who was pretty tall, was wearing a suit and one of those mafia hats. You know, the one that makes the "bad guys" look more intimidating in movies while it actually makes them look stupid.

"Long time no see, agent Z.E.R.O." and then it clicked. Wylan Miller, unbelievable.

"Miller, always a pleasure"

"It took me so long, but I'm finally getting my revenge!" he said, clapping his hands together.

"I have told you this before, Ryan's death was not my fault!"

"Bullshit, you know it, I know it, and your bosses at MI6 know it."

"Correction, ex-bosses" he added.

"How did you find me anyway? I thought you moved to Russia?" I said trying to change the subject and buy myself some time to find a way out.

"Well I did, but then some guy named Moriarty interrupted my business plan, and I went to find him. And then when I did, someone was with him having dinner. Sound familiar?" he asked, pointing a gun to the back of my head.

"And then I figured, I might as well get rid of you both."

"Good luck trying to kill that asshole..."

"I'm sure it won't be that difficult, seeing as he's already on his way to find you"

"You're joking, right?"

"I can assure you that I'm not"

"Well then I can assure you your plan will fail"

"What do you mean?"

"There is no way James Moriarty will come looking for me"

"And why not?"

"Because we despise eachother!"

"So you have dinner with people you despise?"

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.."

"You never had dinner with me-"

"Well I'm sorry to dissapoint" I rolled my eyes.

Wylan walked infront of me. I took advantage of that to disarm him, and knock him out with the gun in the process.

One of the guards ran towards me while the other three put their fingers on the triggers of their guns.

I shot two of them, punched one of them in the eye with my ellbow and then shot the last one. Which by the way, is not easy with handcuffs on.

Just before I grabbed the keys off the unconcious guard and shot Wylan three times in the head. I just want to be sure that he won't come after me again.

I unlocked my handcuffs and then put the other key in the lock. I got out of the way right on time before the door was kicked in. James Moriarty was standing infront of me, also surrounded by dead guards.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"You've got to be kidding me right now" I shook my head, Miller was actually right.

"Eli, are you okay?" He walked over to me, checking me for any injuries.

"Yes i'm fine- wait, did you just call me 'Eli'?"

"Come on, let's get you out of here" we started walking through the hallways. I kept staring at him with a look of confusion and shock on my face.

"I asked you a question-"

"And I chose to ignore it"

"Why-" he cut me off.

"And by the way, I still haven't gotten a thank you"

"Thank you for what? Kicking a door in that nearly crushed me?"

"Alright be stubborn. Fine by me, have fun looking for the exit yourself then"

"This is a two way hallway, we just got from one side so I'm sure it won't be that difficult thanks" I said with a fake smile.

"Plus I can just follow the trail of dead guards. And now that I think about Hanzel and Gretel should've just left that instead of breadcrumbs" I added.

James tried his best not to laugh, but failed.

There was a silence for a few seconds.

"You know, I'm kind of starting to think that you're getting attached to me"

"And what makes you think that?"

"Well lets see, you take me out to dinner, you start calling me names- friendly names might I add, you came looking for me after one of our mutual enemies kidnapped me and now you're actually laughing at my jokes"

"So?"

"Sooooo I think you actually like my presence"

"Would that be so bad?" we stopped walking.

He pushed me against the wall, arms on each side of my face. He started to lean in but I pressed my finger against his lips.

"Easy there, just because you like being around me doesn't automatically mean I can stand being around you" I said laughing.

"Well, can you?"

"M-maybe, and maybe we should establish some ground rules before we take that step-"

"Like what?"

"I'm not some game you can play, alright? I'm the queen of the board. And if you forget that, the king gets defeated. Understood?" I said grabbing his tie to pull him towards me.

And then he kissed me.
