The bags were packed and stacked against a wall by the door. I was sitting on the bed and reading a book about demons, because I knew too little about them, when Lucavarious appeared out of thin air.

‘’ I see you’ve packed. Great, you need to leave soon. You won’t infiltrate the school this time because the supernatural council are chasing you, and pupils are warned about you. But you will get to know this shifter outside of the school. Which is better, you don’t need to wear those unflattering uniforms.’’ Lucavarious sighed and looked me over. A smirk started playing on his lips. ‘’ I simply cannot wait until you’re lying in my bed wrapped around my covers.’’   I swallowed loudly. Lucavarious obviously tended to drift into other subjects.

‘’eh…hehe… yeah, well I got to go now. I got all the information and everything I need to get this sorry fucker. However, what if he doesn’t go into his usual café in months? What shall I do then?’’

‘’ get familiar with your surroundings and you’ll probably befriend the whole staff and that might make your job easier. Also, you will be loaning my place for a while the mission is on-going. If you touch any of the paintings I will give you to my lowest servants for an hour.’’ If I had known what the lowest servant was like, I would most likely be more scared of that threat. I shuddered anyways because it wasn’t bound to be anything good. But at the same time it perplexed me. Lucavarious seemed like a very simple guy, sorry, demon, but then he would go and be all artistic.

Beautiful paintings and pictures and art were all over hell, which is kind of ironic in itself, but it made everything stunning. Now you got the feeling of a dark mysterious place with a tinge of sinister and eternity. Because this palace had obviously been here for centuries or maybe even before mankind even existed. Who knows?

‘’ what is it with all these paintings?’’ I asked on a brave note.

‘’ They last throughout the ages, paintings doesn’t change if treated properly and memories are forever painted upon the wall so I will never forget. As everything else perishes a fragile painting will last because who cares about a lonely painting?’’ his eyes held a flicker of emotion before he turned towards me again.

Was Lucavarious lonely? Did he feel the ages despite his talk about eternal life? In that moment I wanted to reach out to him and comfort him, which was ridiculous in itself. However, despite my thoughts I reached out to him.

Lucavarious stared at me and then down at my hands. ‘’… what are you doing?’’

The moment passed, and now I felt stupid. Then of course I began stuttering and blushing. ‘’ eh… hehehe… I was just strechin- never mind, teleport me. I’m ready to begin this.’’

The silence stretched onwards for what felt like eternity but thankfully, Lucavarious finally grabbed me and we disappeared and reappeared in a living room.  ‘’ I’ll be in touch, Darling. In the meantime when you’re not beguiling the werewolf, work on your powers they are very volatile and uncontrollable.’’ With that he disappeared again. I sighed and looked around. It was an incredible flat. It was no boring white flat, it had colour and life with paintings decorating the walls. One painting caught my interest. I moved closer to the painting to study it.

It was a dark and sad painting. An angel falling from the sky and crashing to the earth and through it into the fire under the earth was painted with expertise.. The eyes on the angel was tearstained and sad, the great white wings no longer able to fly. I checked to see who had done the painting, but there was no signature. My hand brushed against my lower back where my own signature was tattooed in my skin. A sigh escaped me and I moved on from the painting, oddly depressed.
