It's the third sunrise, and I am to meet with the Avengers at S.H.I.E.L.D. They have a plan, and I cannot contain my nature of being so anxious for it to be put into action.
I have just arrived here at S.H.I.E.L.D. Natasha and Steve picked me up in Natasha's car, and they took me to the site.
As I exit the door, I see tons of people clearing the tower's debris and remains off of the ground, and taking it somewhere. They also scan the ruins of the building. If I hazard a guess, I think they're trying to figure out a way to rebuild it.
"This way, Freedom." Natasha says as she ticks her head to the left. I follow behind her and Steve, and they take me to the room where I was initiated for disappearance.
Through the glass panes, I spot everyone watching us approach, their faces devoid of reaction before they seem suspicious in front of Fury.
Steve enters first;
"Good morning, everyone." He greets, nodding to Fury as he nods in response.
Then Natasha;
"Good morning." She greets, too.
"Morning." Fury addresses.
Now it's my turn.
I turn the corner and walk through the entrance nonchalantly, imitating Steve and Natasha's greetings.
-"Good morning."
"Morni- what's she doing here?" He questions sternly, discreetly pointing at me with his finger. I press my lips into a thin line and draw my attention to him, acting completely pure.
"I was asked to come." I state, batting my eyelashes.
I can tell from his panting rage that he going to call the guards on me in a minute.
"You were asked to come? By who?" He asks, shifting his gaze to the Avengers behind me.
"By me." Rhodey stands, folding his arms.
"And me." Wanda joins in.
"And me." Sam steps in, too.
Then the others join in, standing up and tensing themselves infront of their superior.
Wow. They are very cool.
Natasha engages, refusing to sit down.
"We all did. The deal between us and her is still on, Fury." Natasha explains, beginning to pace over between me and Fury.
Fury's chest rises and relaxes with every infuriated breath he intakes and releases. He flips his head to the side and begins to call out, until Natasha rips out a gun from her boot and holds it in front of him, preparing it with a click.
"Call the guards on us and I will pull this trigger." She threatens, her joints locking in place.
-"I hope you know I can also kill them when they get here."
"I hope you know you're holding a gun to the person who can get you fired!" Fury denotes, holding his hands up in surrender.
Steve approaches and mirrors Natasha's actions, a separate gun in his hand and pointing in the same direction; Fury's head.
"That makes two of us." He states, a growl in his voice.
I hear a squeak behind me and a light thud. I peak over my shoulder and see Bruce almost tripping over his chair and come over to the front, fiddling with his hands.
-"If they're going, th-then I'm going to."
He's so gentle when he talks, Fury looks like he's holding in a chuckle. With an attitude as soft as a baby lamb, it's hard to take Bruce seriously.
