Today was Ella's birthday and she had invited me. I thought she hated me, but I was happy when she invited me because that meant I didn't have to be alone at home crying over what happened to my mom over and over. I needed to tell Jake what happened but I felt if I told him I'd just want him to be by my side and I won't be giving him nor me the space that we need to fix our relationship. He's already suspicious enough I just don't want to make it worse. Everyone had been checking on 24/7 and when I meant everyone I meant Mason. Every hour he'd message or FaceTime me just to make sure I haven't been crying or doing something to myself. It was really sweet but annoying, I didn't need anyone to watch over me beside the man up above.
I had chosen to skip school today because I was sure the news of my mom's death had passed around the whole school in about just one hour. And everyone was going to treat me as if I was going to break in any second. I stayed home and stuffed my face all day watching comedy movies just to keep me laughing. I was enjoying my movie and until someone rudely banged on my door. I grabbed my bowl of candy salad and my huge spoon and walked to the door and opened it.
"Ella what the hell are you doing here!?" She looked at me and yanked my bowl of candy salad and took my huge spoon and put them on my table and grabbed my face.
"What are you doing? I understand your mother died but that is not the reason for you to be skipping school and stuffing your face with junk!"
"Why do you care I've been a bitch to you and you've been a bitch to me!" She let go of my face and crossed her arms.
"RiRi I care because you used to be my best friend and I hate seeing you hurt. So please just get ready so you can help me get some birthday stuff for my party.
I ran upstairs and looked in my closet and grabbed a cropped hoodie and some high-waisted ripped jeans. I had put my hair into a cute poofy ponytail. Ella screamed my name and I ran back down the stairs. She pulled me screaming "LETS HIT THE STREETS!" I laughed a little bit as she dragged me to her car.
...
We were in the mall searching for outfits and Ella and I had been filling each other in on our summer and things that happened before we reunited. Ella had been bugging all day since we've been together about Mason and his new girlfriend. I kinda blew her off but that didn't stop her from still asking questions."What are your intake on Mason and his first girlfriend and you and her looking like me?" Ella acted as if she was a reporter and held her phone below my lips a little bit.
"Well she's really pretty I'll give that to her. But she's clingy at times, she has energy but a little too much. Very friendly and fashionable she's honestly the best girl for Mason can boost him to do new things." I was sure I meant everything I said because honestly, Mason needs a girl like her right now
"Mhm okay. Do you feel as if before Mason started dating Rierra you and he had chemistry? Because I heard him and you got close when I came." I laughed because Ella was so good.
"Well we had those intimate moments at the time but I felt as if it was just because I was vulnerable and I was going through a tough time with Jace and my friend and all that. He was always there for me when I needed him, he'd never diss or ever refused to hang out with me even if he was busy. Sometimes I felt as if I was using him to make me feel happy or using him to figure out my real feelings! Not once have I paid him back for what he's done for me!" Ella dropped her phone into her purse giving me the "that was the cutest thing!" face.
She just kept looking at me and that made me feel kinda awkward, so I grabbed her arm and yanked her "Let's go!"
...
We had gotten our outfits for Ella's party, and Ella had asked Jace and me to help her decorate her party since we decorated the Spring Fling dance so nicely according to her. It was really fun hanging out and bonding with my oldest friends. Jace and Ella were being so PDA which kinda grossed me out."Deuces guys!" I turned around and started walking towards the door.
"Where are you going RiRi!" Ella and Jace turned around saying the same thing. I just smiled and started to
"I'll see you guys tomorrow at Ella's party! Love y'all both." I screamed at them as I continued to run.
...
I reached my home glad that I was here. My grandparents had been keeping in touch asking me if I want to come and stay with them but I did want to. I honestly really just wanted to stay here with my friends probably move in with one of the others then moving across the country to regret leaving my best friends. My mom's funeral was about in a month and friends and family had been planning it, while I just sat and did nothing. All my friends wanted to come because all of them had some type of friendship with my mother.I ate dinner alone and watched Netflix alone. I did everything alone. I had reached up to my room and I was going through stuff and I had found the note that I wrote dedicated to Jace spilling my feelings and I threw it away there was no point in having it because I have my best friend back. I also had found the letter that Mason wrote to me and I kept it just to remember that I'm perfect according to Mason.
