(F/C) = Fur color

It was quiet.

Rain pattered against the ground..

..and (Y/N)'s pelt.

(Y/N) brought their head up, laying in the middle of camp and letting their fur become absolutely soaked. Their (F/C) belly fur darkened due to the mud that had gathered around them. Their eyes scanned camp, though they could barely see anything because the sky was dark. A brilliant bolt of light shot down, and the clouds rumbled, as if expressing some type of fury. The rain became harsher.

(Y/N) wasn't tired. How could anybody sleep through a storm like this?

"(Y/N)? What are you doing outside of the cave? The weather is horrible, and your fur is all wet and dirty." A wolf sat down next to them.

"The weather is the one reason I'm up, Melody.." They muttered to the light orange wolf. "It's far too loud. And whenever I try to close my eyes and dream, I--"

They got cut off because lightning shot down and then the sky rumbled yet again. 

"--that happens."

Melody nosed them to their feet. "You're going to catch a cold. Come on." She ushered them into the cave, shaking herself dry before stepping in herself.

(Y/N) flopped down onto the ground, realizing how cold they were. That quickly changed, though, because Melody curled around them.

"Goodnight, (Y/N). Sleep tight." She licked their ear.

They managed to fall into a peaceful sleep.
