Caught In-between The Universe

Chapter 3

Because I don't have school this Friday, I wanted to give some love out in the world and put out 2 chapters this week.  Also there is a lil but of 🍷 in here, so enjoy! 😊👌🏼

Tony and Pepper were sitting in the car on the way to the event. Pepper was a beautiful black dress that kinda've looked like Belle's dress from Beauty and the Beast. Except for the bottom part of the dress wasn't frilly at all. It was really silky and smooth, Tony on the other hand was wearing a sleek black suit with a black tie. Very professional, but Tony had wanted to wear the Ironman suit to the event. Pepper had instantly turned that down.

"All I'm saying is it would've looked awesome just flying into the event," Tony clarified, not taking his eyes off the road.

"You would've looked unprofessional," Pepper stated, smiling as she applied some light pink lipstick.

"I would've rocked being unprofessional," Tony grinned, turning to face Pepper but making sure to not cause an accident.

"Yes, you would've," Pepper agreed smiling.

Tony pulled into the already full VIP parking space and helped Pepper out.

"Put this on your wrist. If anything happens like we start to get bombed, raise your hand up and your suit will find out," Tony said assuringly. As he slipped it in Peppers wrist.

"Do you have one?" Pepper asked anxiously, looking up at Tony with underlying fear. Tony turned his head to scan the surroundings before he pulled his sleeve up. Pepper glanced down and saw a similarity looking bracelet on his wrist. Pepper breathed in relief. He pulled his sleeve down and they walked side by side into the double doors.

They eat greeted with a glass of Champagne and lead to the arena where everything was very well decorated. There had to have been at least 500 to 1,000 white tablecloths tables. There were beautiful chandeliers hung that went good with the white trim that was everywhere. Tony lead Pepper to their table and got seated. It took about 15 minutes for everyone to get in. Once they had everyone in, someone went up to the stage and tested out the microphone.

"Hello? .....Can everyone hear me?" The speaker asked. Everyone from the audience replied with the word yes.

"Alright then, Welcome everyone!" The speaker exclaimed and everyone started clapping loudly.

Tessa walked around and back to the desktop. As much as she wanted to, she knew she wouldn't be able to unlock those articles without Tony's password. She sighed and headed upstairs. She knew Pepper and Tony were getting reading for the event or whatever so Tessa went back to her room.

Happy, on the other hand, was no where do be found. Tessa guessed that he was up in his area of the house and not wanting to be bothered.

Tessa didn't not what else to do so she down to the lab yet again, knowing she shouldn't try and hack the barrier. She knew Tony put protective locks on those articles for a reason, but why? Was it because he was hiding something from Pepper? She walked downstairs, entered the code in and pulled the glass door open. She headed for the desktop and took a seat opening the tabs until she found the one she was looking for. On the screen was the Stark Industries logo with a password box. Tessa looked up from the computer and quickly made sure that Happy wasn't there. Once she made sure that Happy wasn't there she, opened the computer monitor and was to the left of her and started clicking through a bunch of collected data reports. She silently hoped that she'd click on a page full of different passwords that she could use. All the tabs showed absolutely nothing.

Annoyed, she closed out of the tabs and leaned back in the chair. "Where would Tony hide the passwords?" Tessa said quietly. She did not want to get caught. She stood up and had a really stupid idea. Tessa decided to take a couple of shots of Tonys expensive Vodka.

Tessa got up and went over to the organized display of various bottle of liquor. She looked at the glass wall and made sure that Happy was not going to catch her taking shots. She was only 15 and knew she would be drunk. Tessa picked up a bottle of Tito's that looked to be a little over halfway full. She grabbed a shot glass from the coffee table. She took the topper off the bottle and poured the glass halfway full. Tessa picked it up and studied it.

Without a moments hesitation, she drank it all. She closed her eyes as she swallowed the tiny amount and winced. It was bad. It tasted bitter and it burned her throat. She filled the glass half full again and drank it. She coughed and put the topper back on. Tessa put the bottle back on the shelf exactly where she had found it.

Tessa took the glass to the bathroom and scrubbed it with soap. She was determined to get the alcohol out of that glass. Tessa finished washing it and dried it off before placing it back on the coffee table. She heard someone come down the stairs. Tessa quickly ran over to the gadgets and tried to look like she was busying herself.

Happy typed in the code and pulled open the glass door. Tessa looked up and saw Happy going over to Tony's desktop and looking at something. When he wasn't looking, Tessa popped a piece of spearmint gum into her mouth. She chewed it, silently hoping that it would be able to mask the smell of Vodka on her breath.

"Hey, so um, Tony said that we could order pizza if we wanted," Happy said looking at her from some files that Jarvis had pulled up. She could see him clicking on certain things.

"Uh, could we get half cheese and you can have the other half?" Tessa asked. Picking up some more random gadgets. She was surprised that Happy wasn't coming over here and grabbing them out of her hand saying they were dangerous. But knowing Happy, he'd let do some thing stupid and blame it on her.

Happy turned away from the files and headed of the desktop area and down to where Tessa was standing.

"Yeah, that works," Happy smiled and nodded. He pointed to toward the door. "I'll go make the call and I'll let you know when it gets here," Happy confirmed, heading toward the door. Tessa gave him a thumbs-up and returned to her fake busyness.

That chapter had some 👌🏼✨👀 going on, but I promise that Tessa won't be like that the entire story. But, I just wanted her to have a little ✨🔥 in her personality. ☺️
