Goodbye

She looked me in my eyes filled with tears as I tried my best to hold them back. She was leaving. Someone I hadn't even thought that our "friendship" would be so serious. I was now thinking of how alone I would feel once again. I was quiet for a moment and as she was done speaking I asked "so this is goodbye?" She said "yes." I felt sad and she was sad too. I tried to be a man and hid my tears from her and when I couldn't hold it anymore I just left. She was leaving tomorrow, back to her home. It was 4:00 PM and I thought to myself that the last thing I would want to do is end things like this. I took a pill, opened up a can of alcohol which progressed from just one and took an edible. I wasn't myself from then on. I was high. I had lost my sense of coordination, with every step I tried to take I almost fell to the ground. There was one place I was going and it was to her apartment. It was really late and the weather had become real cool. I walked into the building and I got real bad stares from everyone. My presence was definitely noticed in the building. I was just trying to make it to her room but in my state it took me half an hour before I found it, the door was opened and as I walked in, all I could say was her name as I blindly paced around the room. She was not there. I just fell on her bed and cried. I covered myself up with her blankets and fell asleep. I then woke up to the sounds of a blockbuster movie coming from the tv. I was still half asleep so I ignorantly said "you're making noise I'm trying to get some sleep." She replied "shut up, you know I like Indian movies." I instantly came to life, it was her. We just stared at each other for a couple of minutes and smiled and the fact that she didn't even ask me why I was here made me even more happier. She put the tv off, got into her pjs and laid beside me, spending one last night together before we'll see each other again someday.
