Roller skating and partying. Fun fact: I am an excellent roller skater. We had one extra day in Boston before the day of our concert, and we decided that we wanted to spend the day shopping and exploring until I suggested we go to a large party including roller skating that night.
So here we are, in line at the venue, listening to the booming music you could hear coming from inside, along with laughter and fun. I was beyond excited, having not skated in a long while, not to mention that I got to do it with my best mates in the world this time.
"Whooooo!" Leigh screamed next to me, as she had never been before. All of us were ecstatic and dying of laughter at every chance we got.
"I haven't been here in so long you guys, this is so exciting. Even Jesy's letting loose!" I said.
"God I'm so fuckin' excited, come on girls! Tonight is ours!" Perrie yelled, clearly making a scene, but not giving a care in the world.
"The night is young! We're gonna take on the world tonight! Forget about all the shit in our lives and go fucking crazy!" I exclaimed, joining in on the excitement.
All of us were wearing new, expensive outfits, from our time shopping earlier. Jesy was wearing skinny jeans and a black glittery sports bra type thing, Perrie wearing a black bralette, leather skirt, and fishnet tights. Leigh was wearing a black and blue tank top, along with black skinny jeans. They all looked stunning, of course.
Jade, in particular, looked amazing. She was wearing a rainbow glitter bra top, with black leather pants. She had straightened her naturally curly hair and put it into a low ponytail, while I straightened mine and left it down. I still had extensions in, with my hair running down to the middle of my torso. I was wearing a pink lace top, ripped denim shorts, and a thin leather jacket that went to about the middle of my thighs.
"You know, ladies, I have to say we all look quite lovely tonight." I spoke.
"A sexy kind of lovely I would hope." Leigh-Anne said, to which I responded with a smile and an 'of course'.
Soon enough, we were let inside and given wristbands to rent skates, and immediately went to get ready. Inside the place, it was absolutely huge. It was a large venue, often rented out by wealthy people, but usually, the owner uses it to host huge parties like this. Popular music was blaring through the speakers, and I couldn't help but wonder if they were going to play one of our songs. A fog matchine was making the place all the more enticing.
I had already taken my jacket off, thanks to the hot atmosphere. People were dancing, and you could faintly hear the awful singing happening at the karaoke area in the far corner. We had found a secluded booth on one side where we were eating some food and drinking small sips of our cocktails.
"This place is insane, and we haven't been out in a while so this is a great place to start." I heard Leigh say over the music.
Perrie had agreed with her, saying she was excited to get drunk. Typical. Though I can't say I disagree.
One thing I had noticed was Jade somewhat staring at me for a lot of the day. She would steal glances when she thought I wouldn't notice and when I looked in her direction, she would quickly turn the other way.
"Hey, Jade, have these, I'm done with them," I said as I gave her the rest of my fries. She looked up at me, clearly not expecting a word from my mouth to be directed toward her.
And for a second, I swear, I absolutely swear, I saw a flash of guilt and regret in her eyes. I soft look as if to say she was sorry as she held her eye contact with me. But at the snap of a finger, the gentle expression turned into a cold, heartless one, as she rolled her eyes.
"You think I'd want to eat your fries? Seriously? God, Camille, I'd thought you'd have grown up already. Your a-" She said in a despicable voice, but I cut her off before she could go further.
"No. Absolutely not. I can't deal with this right now," I said as I threw my napkin on the table and stood up. "I cannot deal with your obnoxious mood swings, not now, not ever. You're supposed to be my best friend, not the person who makes me feel like I'm a piece of shit every day." It slipped out before I could control it, right before I got away from the table and headed straight for the bathroom.
I saw as I was leaving that she was a little bit shocked at the way I reacted, along with all the other girls being completely shocked at what the both of us had said, having never seen it get to that point before.
I shouldn't feel guilty. I know that I shouldn't feel guilty. But somehow, deep down, I begin to feel a wave of guilt wash over me, overcoming any anger I had previously held toward her. I know that I shouldn't feel that way. After how she treated me I know that it was in my right to respond in the way that I did.
But it was three sentences. Just three sentences between the two of us and somehow it manages to make me feel like I'm spiraling into neverending darkness. Somehow such a quick exchange between us can make my entire world fall apart. A knock sounds on the door and I hear Perrie ask if she can come in, and when I don't respond, the door opens and she rushes to sit next to me.
"Well, I guess I forgot the lock the door then." I said, but when my voice cracked, I was thankful for my best friend's presence.
"And thank god you did, I dunno what I would have done if I couldn't get in." I heard as she gently put her arms around me.
"I don't know what happened. She hates me, and I have no idea what I could have done to make her suddenly treat me like shit." I spoke in a low voice, while silent tears spilled out.
"I don't know honey, but I do know that after you left, she felt shocked at what she had said. She can't believe what she said and-"
"No! That doesn't mean anything unless she actually shows me that she's sorry! Unless she comes to me and tells me the reasons for her actions then as far as I'm concerned she's still a heartless bitch."
"Hey! Look I don't know why she's acting this way around you but you need to actually talk to her because you know that she wouldn't do this for no reason. So before you go calling these horrible things you need to actually try with her." She spoke in a gentle tone.
"No Perrie! She was my best friend until she suddenly wanted to treat me like I had done something horrible to her. You can't just expect me to 'talk' to her, because I have nothing to say until she gives me some kind of explanation for her actions. Ok? I have done nothing wrong and you can't possibly believe that I did!"
"And I never said that you did! Look, Camille, I am not the enemy here! I know that it is her fault and you don't deserve this, but as far as I'm aware, nothing will come out of this until one of you tries to talk to the other. I am well aware that you did nothing wrong, but if you want answers then you have to go looking for them!" She yelled back at me, shutting me up and making me stare back at her.
"I know," I said sitting back down, letting more tears slip out. "I know that I do. But I just, I don't know, I can't bring myself to talk to her because I'm scared that she's gonna just yell at me again."
"Look, we can come back to this later, but for now, we need to go and try to have fun. So stay here, I'll go get my purse, fix your makeup, and we can go out and get drunk and forget about her." She said with a small smile.
I nodded in response before she got up to leave, and I was left alone once again to try and contain myself.
