I was awake before my alarm clock even went off. I threw on some clothes and made my way over to Will's house.

Thankfully, he was already waiting on me on his front porch, so I didn't have to throw any rocks at his window again.

"Hey! You ready to go?" I walked up to him.

"Yeah. Where are we going?" He seemed to keeping his hands behind his back, but I didn't question it.

"Well, I just thought we could hang out, ya know? Just, wherever I guess."

"Ok! That sounds like a plan!"

Seeing him so excited to hang out made me smile, but I didn't let him see it.

As he walked passed me, he quickly switched his hands from the behind his back to in front of him, keeping them out of my sight.

"You hiding something there?"

"N-No, what do you mean?" I could tell he was nervous.

I took his arm and pulled it closer to me so I could see what was in his hands. He wasn't holding anything. But his sleeves were coated with a dark red substance.

"Is this...??" I stared at his hands, stained with red.

"Paint! It's paint- I was painting."

"Oh ok." That seemed to make a lot more sense. He is a very talented artist after all. And with my experience with finger painting back in kindergarten, that shit gets all over the place.

"Do you have everything? Is your mom awake yet? I think I should go tell her where you are, so she doesn't worry about you. And I know she really worries-"

He grabbed my arm. "No! Don't go in there!"

"What? Why?"

"She...she's sleeping. We probably shouldn't wake her. She's been really stressed lately. She'll probably assume the bus picked me up when she wakes up."

"Oh. Alright then..."

The first place we went was the arcade. It was a classic, and it's where we met Max.     We've made a lot of memories here. With and without him.

He seemed very into a new game that was plugged in a week ago. He didn't mind the wait. Everyone in the arcade was waiting to play that game. I'm only interested in the older ones. The classics. I feel like those are easier to play. But he wanted to wait in line to play that new VR zombie shooting game.

"You don't even have to play it. Please just wait in line with me?"

Jesus, how could I say no?

"Fine, but you owe me."

We waited and waited and waited, until we were finally next. I stood off to the side and watched him look around and get all scared with those goggles on. I laughed, but I probably would've done the same.

The game costed 50 cents but it was well spent. He got 120 tickets out of it.

"I'm gonna go again!" He put his tickets on       a dining table at the food court, where I was getting a blue raspberry slushee.

"Wow, you're really gonna wait in line again just to play that game? The lines like twice as long as the first time you waited in it!"

"Oh man, really?" He looked back and examined the line, now reaching the laser tag room. "Oh wow. Yeah, you're probably right."
