SPY SCHOOL: CATALYST
A SPY SCHOOL FANFICTION
BY AARONJPYRO

SYNOPSIS: After a freak accident ejected Ben Ripley and Erica Hale from the Academy of Espionage, there seemed to be no way back. But when a unknown virus cracks the CIA system, opening every agent's identities to the public and leaving the nation defenseless, it's up to them to save the world yet again.

AUTHORS NOTES: So-I've been reading a lot of spy school fanfictions lately, and I've noticed that the writing quality on some of them isn't..that...great. So due to the fact that Stuart Gibbs won't release another Spy School book for another year, I've decided to write the best spy school fanfiction possible, so that we can enjoy the wait for another one of Stuart Gibbs books :)
I've been experimenting with the different possible timelines, trying out different events and scenarios, and I've pulled the best together for a catalyst (hehe) of the best.
I'm going to spend a lot of time on this, each chapter is gonna have a ton of words, not like some other fanfiction books you might read, and I'm going to make it as detailed as possible, leaving no gaps in the story or anything unrealistic.
I've got all the spy school books on hand, so no characters should be OOC, although if anyone thinks so let me know in comments so I have some advice.
I hope everyone who reads this (and everyone else of course lol) is alright right now, and are doing well after this whole crappy 2020 year-and finally I appreciate anyone reading this and the story, thanks for the read and thanks for the possible like.

why u reading this read the story lol
Don't u think the word catalyst sounds dope

SPY SCHOOL: CATALYST            CHAPTER ONE
ACADEMY OF ESPIONAGE
BEN RIPLEY-4

My routinely uneventful patrol of our area was interrupted by a burst of pops and the splattering sound of a paintball hitting a hard object. Which of course, meant I was getting shot at. Although I arguably had the best math skills in the school and could solve practically any mathematical equation in my head, holding a firearm and firing one was something beyond me. So, going with my survival instinct, I abandoned any pretense of shooting back, and fled towards the center of our territory.
I hurdled over a bush, ammo exploding all around me, coupled with the frightening whizzes of high powered rounds zipping past my ears. I landed hard and rolled to my feet.
"Erica!" I said, speaking into my headset while dodging through a pile of dirt and debris.
"I need backup now! I'm getting shot at from behind and there's not enough room to shoot back!"
"Okay." Came the response. I sighed with relief. I could trust Erica to handle getting rid of an enemy agent more than I could trust myself to brush my own teeth.
I dashed through a final set of bracken and found myself in the middle of an empty clearing that was supposed to be crawling with our team members. "Uh. Erica?"
"What's the problem?" She asked, sounding oddly relaxed.
"Why is there no one here?" I asked worriedly.
Before she could answer my question, or even respond, my assailant burst out of the weeds. I fumbled with my gun, trying to take him out before he could fire, but my questionable skills with guns failed me again and I found myself facing the businnes end of his gun.
"A good try." He said, smirking. He aimed his gun at me.
It sounded as if a thunderstorm had combined with a hurricane. From the trees, behind bushes, and hiding on the ground, my team members unloaded on my attacker. He stumbled backward and jolted as though he was being electrocuted, getting hit with dozens of paintball rounds per second.
Finally, with a painful cry, he managed to extricate himself from the killbox and dashed into the forest, now more blue than clean.
My team members emerged from the clearing, high fiving each other and congratulating each other. I caught Erica's eye in the crowd and waved at her, trying to attract her attention to figure out what to do next. Or really, what she would make me do next.
She sidestepped a young, frizzy haired boy and walked up to me, holding several pieces of mapmaking equipment and toting a long page of paper.
"Liam says he spotted most of the red team members hiding behind the shack in the artillery range. You never know with Liam, but this could be our chance to get a bunch of em in one run." She said, studying the map.
I grinned, slinging my rifle over my shoulder. "That's where we're heading then?" I asked.
She rolled her eyes. "No, we're stopping by the ice cream truck first. Obviously. C'mon. We don't have all day."
