"I'm surprised you haven't muted the GroupChat yet," June said, coming from the hallway moving her arm in a weird motion to keep her jacket from falling over her shoulder. I had been in the wall mirror contemplating on shoes for the outfit I had picked tonight.

"I'm surprised I haven't either," I said, turning in the mirror before deciding on a pair of red and black 1s. I had on a red top, long stacked sleeves and a pair of holy black jeans. The girls in the group chat made it seem like celebrities were attending the party tonight - A party that I had no real information about but just an address.

"Girl. You got this look straight off of Pinterest," She said at first, going through her phone and opening Snapchat. "But that's alright, mine came from it too." She opened her mouth, letting her tongue hang with a goofy smile at her features.

I had never seen her so simple, a black dress that hugged her curves with an orange crop-top jean jacket and a pair of orange and black 1s. She had a cute orange Michael Khors tote and I grabbed an old pass me down Fendi purse. "Come on girl, enough pictures and I'm unsure if I'm feeling my hair right now," I said, pushing her from the room and turning the light out. The temporary braids that I had for a moment had been curled in traditional rollers, now bumping and styled.

We both traveled downstairs, turning off lights that had been on while we were getting dressed. June headed for the car to avoid confrontation from our Ma - as if she didn't encourage her to head to the party tonight. I could hear The Real Housewives of Atlanta playing on the TV in the living room and the lights had been off, Ma fast asleep on the couch. I tossed the blanket over her and kissed her forehead, pulling out the phone to leave a text to her.

Heading out to the party. 3345 Magnolia, Houston TX is the address. Love you. 🤎

Offering to drive because of new car vibes again, we realized that the address was a good 30 minutes and some change away. We had lived in the suburbs, but this house..we could see we were heading to the trenches. However, it looked like a gentrified trenches..Nice houses around and shit, just the people that ruin the neighborhood. Speaking of the neighborhood -

"This shit is packed, what the hell!" June said once the car shut off, mind you, there was no direct place to park. Cars had been scattered around the block, multiple forms of music blasting from each car. The entire block was out here, but damn, packed was the understatement.

"Y'all made it!" Briyana said, running up to the car. MaKayla was behind her looking uncomfortable in the thigh high heels, but tried to play it off by making awkward dance moves. Kate had been behind her in a cute graphic tee and some cute slides, biker shorts with some custom engraved work.

"Yeah, of course," June said before we all gave brief hugs and greetings. There had been some chatter going on, but I didn't participate in it because I was just stuck in the scenery. MaKayla told us that we were dressing chill, but girls had been out here half naked..Oh, there went a girl that had no clothes going on.
