Adrian had barely slept that night. He had tried to fall asleep many times but in vain as he could hear Emma cry in the room next to his.

It hurt him. He couldn't understand though, how Emmas feelings had such an affect on him, but she was special to him. She had experienced something that had hurt her deeply, something that Adrian hadn't gotten the chance to find out.

Adrian got up in only his boxers and and left his room to go down to the kitchen. It surprised him when he saw that Emma wasn't already seated at the table. She was always down in the kitchen before him.

"Is Emma feeling okay?" Karin asked Adrian quickly as she passed him. She seemed late to work with panic in her eyes as she searched for something on the dresser.

Adrian lazily shrugged his shoulder in answer. He was tired and didn't really know how he should answer her. That wasn't the only reason though. He had a feeling it would be a bad idea to drag the parents into whatever happened to Emma.

Karin called on Emma from down the stairs. "Emma! Your buss leaves in half an hour!"

Adrian saw Karin leave through the front door when she finally found what she was looking for; her car keys. That reminded Adrian — they wouldn't have to take the bus since he still had Nick's car.

He took out a package of cereals and poured a good amount into his bowl of milk. He wolfed down his breakfast. As he heard footsteps make their way to the kitchen his eyes locked themselves on the door. When Emma came down to the kitchen, dressed in a pair of light washed baggy jeans (designer of course) and a grey hoodie, it made Adrian take a second look. He wasn't used to see Emma dressed so comfortably. She was normally very dressed up with jewelry's, makeup and kept up with the fashion trends profoundly well.

Emma avoided to look Adrian in the eyes and instead walked to the kitchen counter and started preparing her breakfast which consisted of a sandwich without any toppings as well as a glas of orange juice.

At first she hesitated to eat since she still didn't feel very good after what had happened yesterday. It was something she tried to avoid thinking about. She closed her eyes tightly as she couldn't get the abominable experience out of her head. Her night had been absolutely horrible as she had woken up many times and fought for her breath.

She seriously thought about staying home for the day to avoid having to meet Adam in the hallways and sitting behind him in the classroom and having to look at his back. Moreover avoiding stares from everyone.

"How are you?" Adrian asked with a hoarse voice and carefully wrapped his arms around her tiny waist from behind and gently hugged her to him. Emmas body became stiff and she stopped  spreading butter on her sandwich. She elicited out an answer.

"I-I'm fine..." She said quietly. Adrian knew she was lying. She still looked worn out.

"Adrian..." She said awkwardly and withdrew from his grasp.

This time Adrian didn't keep his hold on her like he usually would; to joke with her. He realized something was really making Emma feel bad.

Emma avoided to look at the half naked Adrian (like every other morning) as she would usually only blush do to the lack of clothes. This time she avoided looking at him because of fear. Not fear for Adrian but fear that Adrian would find out what happened yesterday and beat Adam to death. Adrian would literally kill Adam if he found Adam not only took her virginity, but also raped her.

Adrian didn't want to torture Emma any more as he could see he was making her uncomfortable, and walked up to his room to change. His clothes consisted of designer clothes which he still wasn't used to even though more than a month had already past since he first arrived.
