Ariella's P. O. V:After getting back, I immediately went to get Gaius and together, we went to try to persuade Arthur to let Merlin go. It took a lot of convincing, but, in the end, we'd managed to convince him.
And, now, Gaius and I are walking with a couple of guards the next morning to let Merlin out. Today, I'm wearing an off the shoulder pink dress, my hair unbound.
"I'm so grateful you were able to convince Arthur to release him," Gaius says to me.
"It was probably just because I'm supposed to be marrying him eventually," I reply. We soon reach the cell Merlin is in, and the guards unlock the door.
"Merlin!" Gaius calls. The ravenette was on his hands and knees, and he turns his head, smiling in relief, as Gaius and I walk in, while the guards linger outside. "You never cease to amaze me!" The old man says in exasperation. The boy's smile vanishes. "The one thing that someone like you should do is keep your head down! And what do you do? You behave like an idiot!"
"I'm sorry," Merlin says sincerely.
"You're lucky," Gaius tells him, jerking his chin at me. "Ari here was able to pull a few strings to get you released."
Merlin flicks his blue grey eyes to me and I smile at him. He says gratefully, "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, Princess Ariella! I won't forget this!"
I hold up my hand as I reply, a soft smile on my face, "Just Ari or Ariella is fine. I hate formalities." He nods as I lower my hand. "And you don't have to thank me, since I'm supposed to marry the prince, it still took a bit of effort to get him to release you. But, in the end, he did." Merlin looks surprised by this. I add, giving Merlin a sympathetic look, "But, there is a small price to pay."
Merlin looks confused by that.
🗡🗡🗡
And, by small price, I mean, being put in the stocks and having rotten fruit and vegetables thrown at him all day.
