I smile as Merlin gestures for me to halt Pegasus, and we stop beside each other's horses in a grassy clearing with flowers and a stream flowing nearby in the forest, where there's a picnic with comfy pillows set up, one early morning. Merlin had come to me after his morning chores for Arthur were completed, to ask for some time off so he could take me on a date. I was surprised he'd succeeded in getting Arthur to agree, but I guess even he understands that Merlin and I need to spend some alone time as husband and wife.
And this is a great way for Merlin to get away from the pestering Prince.
