We heard he fought with his family to be with you. We thought he will sleep around with you for few days and move on. But he got married. You must be doing a lot of stuff to keep him happy. "Thank you so much for your kind words", I still didn't react as I felt that would just make things ugly and spoil the party. I felt hurt but I showed a brave face.
"Really? You are being sarcastic? Maybe you are used to such words. How many guys did you sleep with for money before Veer? Your diamond necklace looks expensive! Hah! You must have tried to trap some other men too! I have heard from someone that your own colleague approached you for a night and offered you money. Poor Veer! I tried to reprimand Veer but he glared at me angrily. "How dare you listen to such nonsense, Bani? ", he hissed near my face before glaring back at them. I trembled and looked down seeing his anger.

" My wife didn't trap me or plotted to marry a rich guy. I begged her to be mine. I literally ran after her for a year to convince her that I was worthy of her love. I dreamt her, loved her and married her. How dare you question Bani's character? I had been a flirt all my life, so that question should be on me! But our patriarchy makes us blind. Can't you see how happy your son is and how amazing his choice is? Everyone has accepted Bani because of her goodness but you can't get over your ego.
