Two Weeks Later

Octavia awoke to her mother opening her curtains.

"Today is the day Octavia. I wish you didn't have to do this. I'm going to tell you a story. Your Father forced me into an arranged marriage just like this one. He took me from my home and said I was the most beautiful girl in the village and he wanted me for himself. I didn't love him and I still don't love him. He threatened to have my family killed if I didn't marry him. I did what I had to do to save my family and I married him. He said he would kill me if I didn't produce him an heir." Vivian paused "I am sorry I couldn't protect you better. I am sorry you have to do this."

"It's going to be okay mom. I have a feeling things aren't going to turn out how he likes."

Vivian helped Octavia get the wedding dress on. It was stiff and uncomfortable. Her father had picked it out. She did her hair in a braided bun and put the veil on. She was ready.

She stepped out of the carriage at the church and the doors opened up. The wedding march began playing. She walked down the aisle with two children carrying her train. Everything felt like it was going in slow motion as she walked.

She finally reached the end where Frances and her father were waiting for her. Her father smiled and tightly grabbed her arm.

"Behave yourself brat" he sneered.

The pastor began. It was a long and boring service and Octavia was beginning to get nervous. "What if Artemis didn't follow through with the plan." She silently berated herself for even thinking that Artemis wouldn't stick with her through thick and thin.

"Sir Frances and Princess Octavia of Zaneth Kingdom have invited us to share in this celebration as they affirm their love before us, pledge their faith to one another, and enter into the joys and privileges of marriage. If there is anyone present who can show just cause why these two persons may not be joined in matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace." The pastor was about to continue when there was an interruption.

"I Object" A loud voice rang out.

Murmurs swept through the crowd. All of a sudden the church roof was ripped away and everyone saw a giant hand grab the bride. Screams flooded the building as the people realized what was going on.

"Don't let that monster escape!" King Algernon Screamed at his guard. But Artemis and Octavia were already long gone.
