chronicle 14: A nice evening

venice italy two days after leaving the vatican by car (thursday>>saturday )February 17th 1950

So here I am the luckiest guy in the world I had the whole world crash on top of me, the worst night that killed the very light in me, put in a position where I could at the very least be smiling that I wasn't hanged or worst burned at the stake, and yet here I was in the presence with the most important people in my universe around an open fire in the living room with a nothing but snacks, drinks and a game of poker that I can't win at because Kali doesn't know how to bluff and Sarah and judas are vampires. But still, I know in my heart of hearts- soon I will have them all. My Sister Kali, my sister Selena, my brother Judas, and my close friend Sarah- I don't know if there is a higher power like the church says, but this experience gives a fighting chance in my eyes.

"Are you telling me you're living at the Vatican? Brother, I don't see how you a-a" Kali looked at Judas and he was waiting for her to continue. "It's ok Sis he's on our side, he always was on our side," Kali's foxtail flicked in anticipation. "Well, aren't you an outcast being a sorcerer and all? I don't see how you're safe there may be little sis who needs to come out there and play security"

Judas snickered. "Oh boy won't that go over well with my superiors yeah your highness we ran into a snag, this fox girl is flashing her butt all over Caleb we may need to up security for him" This was ridiculous, I laughed and hot chocolate sprayed from my nose "Ack judas don't make me laugh while I'm drinking hot chocolate"

-All over her front and She did the fox shift sneezing thing. " what's so funny about that? I kicked your butt into the ground and-ack big bro say it don't spray it and especially not on me ick now I need to get changed. My brother sprayed hot chocolate all over me" Now everyone was laughing. Meanwhile, Sarah looked at Judas and just cuddled him. "I missed you Judas. I thought something bad happened to you. You need to message me more often, Dummy" sarah then reached up and smacked Judas before kissing him. I sighed and looked around the room with so many memories, the images looked like going back in time like a familiar song, like talking with an old friend from long ago, the time seemed to pull together. And I can only stare into the flames wondering what comes next but for now, I needed to get some rest I'm sure Kali would crawl into bed with me I was always her snuggle buddy strange how in a way I was more like her best friend than her brother..but I guess one doesn't pick being a role model one just is called such.

sarah looks back and smiles. "Seems that you guys are tuckered out we should get the bed pulled out, it's a foldout bed" Sarah jumped away from Judas and pulled me off and after throwing pillows off pulled out a bed from the couch, I was floored meanwhile Judas left to get a drink while the two talked and I smile and bow slightly to Sarah in gratitude " thanks I hope it's ok we crash here for the evening" Sarah looked at her hand and aflame formed in her eyes as if she were watching something she spoke. "In another lifetime you wouldn't just be crashing here for the evening you would be living here, I heard it all the time before you came here from Kali the incessant crying she missed you and thought her oldest brother was gone NOT giving you an invitation to stay for the evening now that would be an insult she's gonna want to spend as much time with you as possible before you leave again, as I know I do too, anyway I guess tonight I can spare my roommate if you can spare yours?"

I smirked slightly and chuckled at the way she spoke and I shook my head. "I think splitting up for the evening is a given as you said to me is the same for you I'm sure you also thought Judas died, it's been a couple of months since that night. I think you want Judas as much as Kali wants me"

And sarah smiles and nods and looks wayside as Kali comes out in a black slip and boyshorts, bare feet padding the ground. "I heard you were crashing and I decided to change into my pajamas,  mey 'ni " I slightly understood being in the presence of Kali what her meanings meant italians and arabians had slightly silimarities, she was calling me "her eye, which meant her love in her eye" which was what 'eni' meant; her eye. she used it a few times referring to Selena and me referring to her emerald eyes that we all have, her pajamas  they were strangely shocking like how she wore back then, it brought back memories a throbe, a traditional Egyptian outerwear, kinda like long underwear that Arabians wore. Kali stepped up to me and kissed my cheek. "C-Can I sleep with you tonight big brother?" I smile and I can feel myself blushing slightly more so from sibling love than traditional love. Most would think that at some point "sleeping with your sister" gets kind of weird, but honestly for as long as we were separated, we never got to do those things; I never got to snuggle my little sis, never got to hold her in my arms, at some point it does seem to give a little leeway, and saying no to Kali's indulgence based on morality, it would be a crime to break her heart like that. It may seem inappropriate to some but if me and my sister want to snuggle the world can mute itself.

Sarah smiled and patted Kali's shoulder, an endearing understanding. "I'll see you in the morning, love" Kali smiles at me and I kiss Kali on the forehead. Meanwhile, Sarah finds and pulls Judas into her room.

As I and Kali slip under the covers the last thing we say to each other before the light goes out is

"Love you and missed you"
