After unintentionally eating all the cookies, they figured now was a good time for Nick to leave, and so he did.

It didn't take long for George's mom to give him his phone back either. She said she realized how most of the arguments were her fault, and she felt too guilty to not give it back.

Days passed faster than they wanted. And the day George had dreaded most, was finally there

"Is it really Thursday?" He groaned.

"Yes, unfortunately it is. I'm waking you up early so we can say our goodbyes to Nicks family. They already know we're coming" George's mom said in response, after waking George up from his 5 hour sleep.

It was 6am, George had stayed up late that night texting Nick, which wasn't the best idea, but he didn't want the night to end. He wanted this to be forever. Him and Nick, endless nights with endless conversations. Their silly jokes that no one would ever understand besides them. Their giggles when one of them would die in Minecraft. The way they cherished each other more than anyone else. George felt so different around Nick. It was like he was the only person who understood him. No one else knew about the bad anxiety he would get in stressful situations, or the way he had struggled his whole life with not being able to show emotions. Nick knew though. He understands.

"George?" His mom asked, snapping him out of his fantasy world where he would never leave his hometown and he would be best friends with Nick forever. "Did you fall asleep again?" She rolled her eyes and pulled his blanket off of him. "Get up!" She yelled

"Got it" George mumbled, as he got up and navigated to his shower.

It was 7:14, and George was preparing himself to say his goodbyes to his lifelong friend. His mind couldn't take itself off how lonely he would feel. Everything would be gone, except for in his memory.

"Alright, Georgie go ahead and knock on the door" His dad smiled

George looked at his parents and let out a breath of air. He walked towards Nicks door and knocked once, only to be greeted by Nicks mom seconds later

She grinned from ear to ear, before yelling up up to Nick, advising him to leave his room

It didn't take long at all for Nick to come sprinting down the stairs.

"George!" He shouted, running up to him

"Sapnap!"

They hugged tightly for what, to them, felt like only a few seconds.

"Dude" Nick cupped George's shoulders in his hands, "It's going to be hard without you."

George smiled in awe at Nick.

"C'mon, follow me" Nick said, pulling on George's arm as he lead him to the couch, so they could enjoy each other's company one last time.

They boys talked forever about who knows what. But once the clock reached 7:50, George's mom yelled at George to start wrapping up their conversation. They needed to leave for the airport by 8:40 and they still needed to load their car, eat, and make sure the house was completely ready for them
to leave.

George felt his heart sink into his stomach. This was it. It's real. It's not just a bad dream, or a weird recurring thought. This is actually happening....

George stood up from Nicks couch, which led Nick to do the same moments after. They hugged one last time before George walked out the door.

His dad gave him a short hug as they began their walk back to their house.
