Two days later, I awoke.
How many times have I blacked out due to this psychopath within the past like week?
My back was...healing. My neck was sore. My head reeling from the drastic turn my life has taken.
Is this it?
Is this the rest of my life now?
The door opened.
"Ohmygosh, Luna! Thank goodness you are awake!" Molly exclaimed.
"Hi, Molly".
"How are you feeling?"
"Jipped."
She cracked a small smile. "I bet."
I was lost in a sea of thoughts. Everything that I thought was or is or will be tumbled through my mind.
I need to be logical.
Fact: I am now marked.
Fact: I am still in need of healing.
Fact: I am in an unknown place with unknown people.
Fact: I have no resources at this time.
Fact: I want to murder him.I need to take these points one by one. Find answers and solve problems. Until then, bide my time. Avoid Xavier at all costs.
"You hungry?" Molly asked.
"Yeah, let's eat something".

"Molly, is there a library here?" I asked once we had finished breakfast. Lunch. Eh, whatever.
"Yeah, why?"
"I would like to do some reading. If you think that would be okay."
"I'll have to check with Ethan."
"Who's Ethan?"
"Ohmygosh, I forgot that you don't know like anyone. Ethan is the gamma. Oh, and Trey is the beta."
"Oh. Is Ethan like my partial babysitter?"
"Um, kinda. I have to ask him and he asks Alpha, if he doesn't know"
"Ah. I see."
Her eyes glaze over and I know she's mind-linking Ethan.
"He says it's fine. So let's go."

Mates. Mating Bonds. Mate Marks. Chosen Mates.
Topics I thought would give me answers. I've never know anyone personally that were "chosen" mates.
I scoff at my own words. Chosen. I definitely did not choose him.
Anyways, I am curious how the mate bond, mark or anything that was typical in true mates, worked in chosen mate pairs.
I found some interesting stuff.
First, marking will set off heat just like it would in a normal mate bond. About 1-2 weeks after marking.
Second, regardless of consistent mating, the mark will have to be redone every once a month. Because of this, heat will renew with every new mark.
