Florence was the moon, constantly moving and changing and growing and shrinking, but still somewhat predictable.
Ginny was the sun. fiery and bright and everything revolved around her, but she still tended to everyone's needs of warmth and love.
They didn't work. Rather, they weren't meant to work. But somehow, they just did. Because every once in a while, when you look up at the sky, you get an eclipse.

(NOTE: our love interest for Miss Ginny, Florence Abbott, is a part of the sacred twenty-eight. for purposes of the story, even though I do not really understand how it works, the Abbott family and the Weasley family are in no way, shape, or form related. we don't do incest here.)

As far as anyone could tell, the Abbott's were the least significant family in the Sacred Twenty-Eight. They were "blood-traitors", they were kind, they never started drama, and, well, they were normal. When her parents, Thomasin and Franklin, were killed by death eaters in the Battle of Hogwarts, Florence was determined to make a name for herself. To stop being "that one hufflepuff". To stop being "Hannah Longbottom's sister". To stop being, well, normal.
After schooling, Florence started to work underneath Mr. Ollivander to be a wand maker. Florence never wanted to settle down. That was Hannah's life. Hannah had it all planned out, but not Flo. She was the moon, constantly moving and changing and growing and shrinking, but still somewhat predictable.

Our backstory begins a few years prior. Florence was just starting her 5th year, and she was planning to make it perfect. She was chosen as Ravenclaw's prefect, she had the best friends ever, and she was starting to make her life her own. Not Hannah's, nor her mother or father's. The icing on the cake was that she had secretly started seeing Ginny Weasley behind the scenes. It wasn't a real relationship, just casual hook-ups, but just when it started to mean something to Flo, Ginny started dating Dean Thomas. Florence hadn't expected it to be much more, but it hurt her. Ginny was the first girl she had ever dated, and she didn't want to let go of it just yet. Flo was in a bad state for a little while, but after a month she completely threw herself into her studies, determined to become the best she could be. She was taken in by Professor Slughorn, and became really good at what she was doing. Just when everything was going her way, her whole world crashed and burned.
"Miss and Miss Abbott, I'm so sorry to inform you, but your parents have been killed."
Florence never expected in all of her 16 years that Pomonora Sprout would be the one to tell her that Thomasin and Franklin were dead. There was only one person she wanted to talk to, and she couldn't even say anything. Ginny hated her now. Well, it was never confirmed, but that's what she thought. She gave her rude looks in the hallway, as did her brother, Ron, and his friends.
So, it's safe to say that until after the war, Florence's life was complete and udder shit. And it had been. Until now.
