You kept your promise to Hoseok and Taehyung, getting changed quickly and heading down to the pier a few minutes later. The rest of the boys were already down there, splashing around in the water. Yoongi and Jimin were lounging on floaties. Hoseok and Jungkook were snorkeling, occasionally diving underneath the water and popping back up with some treasure. Jin was lounging on a chair.

"You came!" Taehyung shouted, pulling himself up the latter. He wrapped you in a big hug, soaking your cover up. "About time."

You shivered from the cold water.

"Oops sorry." Taehyung chuckled sheepishly.

"It's fine. I was going to get in the water sooner or later right?" You laughed, slipping off the cover up and setting it on the bench to dry. You thought you felt Jin's eyes on you, but when you turned to look at him, he was staring intently at the bottle of sunscreen in his hand. You shrugged it off.

"Could you get my back?" Jin held up a bottle of sunscreen.

Before you could answer, Namjoon rushed over, holding something in his hands.

"Y/N look at this little turtle!" Namjoon interrupted excitedly. "Isn't he cute? I was looking for crabs when I found him."

Jin frowned as you focused your attention on the baby turtle. You rushed to Namjoon's side. He cupped the turtle in his hands. It stuck its little head out before darting back in.

"Oh my gosh, it's so cute! Where was he? Did he get lost? Do you think his mom is looking for him?" You gushed.

"I found him over here. Come on, I'll show you." You followed Namjoon along the beach, completely forgetting about Jin's request.

Jin let the hand holding the bottle of sunscreen fall to his side. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration.

"We should make him a home! That way he has somewhere to stay until his mom finds him or he's ready to go off on his own," you said.

"Ooh yes, we'll make him a whole mansion." Namjoon set the turtle down while you two got to work building the most elaborate sandcastle. You started to dig out a trench to make a moat while Namjoon worked on building the sandcastle itself. He scooped sand into a small bucket, packing it in tightly. You filled the moat with water before helping Namjoon on the main castle.

A little while later, Jin tried once again to get your attention.

"Hey Y/N! Do you wanna come on the paddleboat with me?" Jin called.

You shook your head politely. "Maybe later! Joon and I are building sandcastles right now."

"Oh okay." Jin masked his frustration with a small smile. He turned away, sighing angrily.

"I'll join you," Hoseok offered to Jin. He jumped on the paddleboat next to Jin, causing it to float away from the pier. Jin didn't even look up. He slowly peddled the boat. The boat started to drift away from the pier and the others toward the middle of the lake.

Hoseok finally broke the silence. "Is something wrong?"

Jin didn't say anything. He glanced quickly back at Y/N before looking down again.

"Ahh, I see. You wanted Y/N specifically to come with you." Hoseok smirked. "And now you're upset because she isn't giving you the attention you want."

"Since when did you become a therapist?" Jin replied snarkily.

Hoseok shrugged. "I'm just calling it like I see it. And from what I see you actually like her, a lot."

Jin put his hand over Hoseok's mouth. "Quiet! The whole lake is gonna hear it with you screaming like that." Hoseok's chuckle was muffled. Jin gave Hoseok a pointed look before pulling his hand away.

"So you do like her?"

"I never said that."

"Then you wouldn't care if I just told the whole lake?" Hoseok stood up and cupped his hands together as if he was going to shout something. Jin pulled him back down.

"Stop that! You're going to rock the boat. And you shouldn't spread lies."

"It's not a lie if it's true." Hoseok smirked.

"I don't like Y/N. I just like messing around with her. That's all."

"So you weren't jealous when she chose to hang out with Namjoon over you?"

"No..."

"So if they started to hang out more or potentially even date then you'd be fine with that? Because they seemed pretty close when we left."

"Can you please stop trying to do your Jedi mind tricks on me?" Jin steered the boat back towards the house.

"Hey Y/N. You've uh, got some sand on your face." Namjoon pointed on his own face where the sand was.

You mirrored him, wiping the sand off. However, you ended up smudging more sand instead of cleaning it off. "Did I get it?"

Namjoon chuckled. "Not quite. Here, let me." He leaned in. His hand cupped your face as he gently wiped the sand off of your face with his thumb. His hand lingered on your cheek. You could feel a blush creep over your cheeks as you both sat there frozen.

At that moment, Jin pulled up and docked the paddleboat. His eyes locked onto yours. The sound of his footsteps running down the pier pulled you out of your trance. You felt a sinking feeling in your chest.

"Jin? Jin wait!" You called. You looked back and forth between him and Namjoon.

"Go ahead. You can run after him. I'm not stopping you." Namjoon stepped back, creating some distance between you two. He looked down at his feet, crestfallen.
