Two days later, Siddharth was sitting on the balcony of his room in his parents' mansion. His sisters were sitting across from him on the porch chairs, sipping on their evening tea. "Sid.." Preeti nudged him. "Kahaan khoya hai?"
Siddharth looked up at his sister, startled. He shook his head, "Kucch.. kucch nahi bas soch raha tha.."
Preeti rested her hand on his leg, "You look worried, distracted." She said, concern dripping from her eyes. "We're getting worried here."
Preeti gestured to herself and her sister, who was sitting right next to her, mirroring the look of concern on her own face. Siddharth sighed. "I'm fine."
Neetu chuckled, "Try again kid. You can't lie to us." She said with a mischievous smile.
Siddharth groaned. Preeti rolled her eyes at him, "You can't keep any secrets from us, don't you know that by now?" She asked sarcastically.
Siddharth straightened up in his seat, "Why are you two even here today? Don't you two have your husbands to take care of? I had thought I'd get a few hours to myself on a Tuesday at least without you guys being annoying big sisters." He said mock glaring at them both.
Neetu and Preeti smiled, "No can do Kid. Both of our husbands are out of town for a week. You'd have known if you had showed up on Sunday. You're stuck with us here." Neetu said with a nonchalant shrug of her shoulders.
"So now spill. What's bothering you?" Preeti said, taking over after her sister.
Siddharth breathed in, deeply. "There's a girl.." He started to tell, but was interrupted by a ungodly squeal from one of his sisters causing him to cover his ears instinctively.
"What the hell, you guys?!" He exclaimed. The girls settled back down. "Sorry. I got excited." Preeti confessed cutely.
Siddharth rolled his eyes at her and told his sisters all about 'his girl'
After he was done, the girls were left to stare at him, "You mean.. she's Dad's personal assistant and doesn't have any idea that you, her crush/boyfriend/whateveritis are his son and the owner of that business after him?" Preeti found her voice first and asked the question, stricken with shock.
"Don't make it worse for me now, if you please." Siddharth pleaded.
"So what's the problem? all looks well in heaven from where I see it." Neetu shrugged. Siddharth looked down at his lap. "I'm not really sure about that."
"Sid.." Preeti raised her eyebrows at him in question.
"I don't like thinking that she knows nothing about me and my family when she has confided in me about hers. She trusts me Neetu di, so much. I don't want her to think that.. I don't." Siddharth said softly.
Neetu laughed. "You are definitely in love." She said making Siddharth blush.
Preeti took his hand in her own, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You should tell her everything about yourself Sid. I've seen her a few times and she's the sweetest girl that I've ever met. I know that you're skeptical about her reaction to this situation and you should be, it's okay to be worried but if you aren't the one to tell her and she gets to know from another person, then it'll be a bigger problem than you're capable of handling. I know where your happiness lies Sid, and I wouldn't want any one of you getting hurt." She explained to him, patiently.
Siddharth nodded, "She would understand right?" He asked unsure.
Neetu sighed. "She'd listen to you, I promise. It's your job to get her to understand."
Siddharth nodded. "You're right."
His sisters smiled at him, patting him on his back. "All the best kid."
Siddharth smiled back, pulling them both into a tight hug.
