As it is beyond my reach,
My time here is brief,
But it is you who gives me form.
Figure of light shrouded in black,
I can offer you no scorn.
I exist not without you,
You who binds me to Earth
And makes me whole.
All I can do is gaze to you
As you tower with new heights.
You surround me with brilliance
When all I can offer is admiration.
I love how you dance among the clouds;
As I mimic from down below.
I wish you would never leave me
But I know it won't do.
All I ask of you,
O'Caster of life,
Is I come back to you tomorrow,
After light fades to dark.
