Crimefighters.

I started writing this last night after rewatching Inspector Gadget (2015) with my younger siblings, finished it this morning.

Carmen Pov

"Mornin' Red!" I hear Player say after I put my earpiece in. It's been a year since I recaptured the V.I.L.E. escapees and I've been relaxing since then. Shadowsan and I moved a few blocks away from my mom's orphanage in a small flat. Shadowsan's officially retired and has gone back to being called Suhara. Coincidentally, as Player tells me, Gray also moved into the area three months ago. It's been fun having him close by.

"What's up Player?" I ask as I change into my black tank top. 

"I've got a mission for you," he says.

My eyes widen as dozens of possibilities overwhelm my head, "Is it V.I.L.E.?" I ask automatically.

"Nu-uh," he replies. "It's an online friend of mine, I met her on Myspyspace."

"That's a thing?" I ask surprised.

"Yeah."

"Carry on."

"Her name is Penny and she's an agent for an organisation called HQ that is similar to A.C.M.E. but less powerful." Player describes. "This villain organisation has a scheme going on here in Buenos Aires, Penny says the plot is most probably ridiculous but it would be good to have an extra pair of hands."

"Time and place," I say. 

"Plaza de Mayo," he says, but I can tell he's reading something out. "In half an hour."

"Tell you, friend, I'll go," I say.

"Thanks, Red."

I start getting ready to leave then Suhara comes into the room. "Where are you going, Carmen?" he asks. 

"Out to help a friend of a friend."

"Okay, be careful," he says. "Take Graham with you, he should be here with your coffee in three, two, one." There's a knock on the door.

I chuckle, "Coming, Gray!" I put on my shoes and then my red coat and hat and open the door. "Suhara's orders, you're coming with me to Plaza de Mayo."

"I must have Carmen senses," he chuckles. "Because I took a day off work today without any plans."

"Come on."

Penny Pov 

We arrive in Plaza de Mayo and I start geeking out and rambling out the historical facts about the area. Suddenly my codex starts ringing, I answer to see my friend Player on the screen with the familiar setting of his dark bedroom. I look over at Uncle Gadget to see him inspecting  a bush, "Brain, keep on eye on Uncle Gadget please, I've got a call."

Brain barks then walks over to my cyborg uncle, "So Pen, Red's going to be here any minute now, she's got an Australian guy with her."

"Is he trustworthy?" I ask.

"Red trusts him with her life," he confirms. "Do you have any more details on the mission."

"M.A.D. wants something from Casa Rosada, Chief Quimby thinks its to do with some world domination plot but its most probably something ridiculous. I'll know more when Talon shows up."

"Who's Talon?" says a voice. I look up to see a tall, beautiful Hispanic woman in a red outfit, behind her is a man smiling at me warmly.

"Red, Gray, this is Penny," Player says.
