So, they didn't become a couple, but they acted like one the entire time. During couples' skate, they were already holding hands. Leigh kept going on about how cute the are and how they were matching and everything.

When Jade got picked up later that evening, Zain had this soft look on his face while watching her leave. He said they exchanged numbers and hoped to meet up again.

Looking forward to all those double dates.

Zain told me that they're taking it slow, he admitted that he's not entirely over Ally. He hoped she was different and would love him no matter what. Though, it was proven that was a lie.

School's tomorrow and he's staying over for a bit. He's currently in the bathroom, on the phone with Jade while I'm playing GTAV on my PS4.

Some time later, Zain comes out holding his phone up to his face.

"I have to go now. I'll see you at school?" He chuckles, "Yeah. We got the same art class."

Another thing is Zain can draw. He was voted most artistic all three years of middle school. Leigh told me Jade was a bit of an artist too, but I never saw her work.

They get off the phone and he plugs it up on the charger.

"Got off the phone with your girlfriend?" I tease without taking my eyes off the screen. "Eat a dick, Los," he says, taking a seat beside me. "You like her, though and I know she likes you too."

"Yeah, and we know that, but-," "It's cool, I know you're waiting. I just wanted to mess with you," I play with his puffy hair. He shoos me off then subconsciously looks out of the window.

"When did you get new neighbors?" He asks and I glance at the house outside of my window. The front door was wide open and people were carrying things inside. It was a family of five, two girls and a boy. My mom told me the oldest girl is around our age and is going to our school soon.

We haven't met the kids yet.

Just then, Sofi waddles in and falls on her butt after a few steps. "Go 'head and get up, Sof," I say to her in Spanish. The toddler smiles, showing her two teeth at the bottom.

She gets up then makes her way over to us as fast as she could. She was closest to Zain, so he picked her up and sat her on his knee. "Y'know, it would've been better to teach her English first," he says as she plays with his double studded pierced ears.

I raise a brow, "How'd you learn Spanish?" He gives Sofi his iPod to mess with before turning his full attention to me. "My grandma and older siblings. My dad nor any of my little sisters speak it. I'm the last of my dad's kids that speaks Spanish," he shrugs.

"Why do you think it'll be easier?" He runs a hand through his curls before answering, "English is hard. It's a very hard language. My abuelita can barely speak it and said that she tried to learn, but that shit is too hard."

"Not really. I learned from cartoons." He stale faces me, eyelids low and lashes making it look like he was closing his eyes. "That's not the case for everyone, Los," he says, playing with Sofi.

My dad shows his face and knocks on my opened door. "Hey, Dad," I wave. Zain waves Sofi's hand and she giggles. "How're you boys?" We exchange glances before nodding.

"Good. Finishing up homework," I say. "Hungry? Sinu isn't here and cooking is her specialty, so I made Hamburger Helper," he says in a playfully disappointed way.

"Papa Ale, you're literally my dad," Zain chuckles. "'Cause that's my, what do you call each other, homie," he nods coolly and Zain snickers.

Neither of our dads can actually cook up a whole meal. It's almost a bare minimum, but it tastes so much better, because of the extra spices they throw in.
