*Niall's POV*

God, that girl is gorgeous. I had been pacing the sidewalk below her apartment for nearly a half an hour before she bumped into me.

She had been on her way to work, so unfortunately she couldn't stay and talk. But I got her number, so at least that's some way to talk to her.

*Aria's POV*

"How many?"

I ask the small group of people waiting for a table a the restaurant I work in.

"Just us four, please,"

A lady says. I smile and lead the group, consisting of two little girls, a dad, and the mom, to a booth in the corner near a large window.

It's a Friday morning, and of course it's pretty busy. It has been this whole week, because most of the kids around here are on their February break. I don't mind the extra customers; money is tight in my situation, and more customers means it isn't so bad.

I pour their glasses of water and tell them I'll be back in a few minutes to take orders.

I actually like working here. It's a nice restaurant, and it's been getting popular lately. I pick up as many shifts as I can, keeping myself occupied. Today I work from 9 AM to 6 PM, with a one hour lunch break at 1.

I continue for the next four hours, seating people and helping carry food out to their tables.

"Your total is $68.32,"

The cashier tells me how much my groceries will cost. It's almost 7 PM, and I decided to stop at the grocery store after work since all I have at home is a jar of peanut butter and a carton of orange juice.

I dig through my wallet.

"I'm short... uh, $14.00, I guess..."

I mumble. The cashier shrugs.

"I guess you've gotta put some stuff back, hon. I can't help ya,"

She says. Suddenly I hear a voice behind me.

"No, she has the money, here you go,"

Before I know it, Niall is beside me handing the cashier a $20 bill.

"Niall, you don't have to-"

"Shh, it's nothing,"

He says quietly. The lady hands me back six dollars, and I shove it into Niall's hands.

"Nope, it's yours,"

He says. I sigh as he takes two of my grocery bags and walks me out.

"Niall, you really didn't have to do that. I'll pay you back, I-"

"No no, it's just a few dollars. No need to pay me back,"

He interrupts me.

"Okay, well thank you. Um... I don't have a car, but my apartment is just a few doors down, I can take the bags,"

I offer, letting him off the hook so he can go home.

"I can carry them. My place is on the way anyways. And hey, maybe I could check out your apartment,"

He says, chuckling. I smile. We walk a few more minutes until I reach the double doors to my building. I press the elevator button signaling 'Up' and walk in when the doors open.

When we reach my floor, I unlock my door and step in. Niall switches on the overhead light.

"You live here?"
