CHAPTER ONE – Midnight Lyrics

On a peaceful, summer afternoon, Jake was sitting in a grassy plane near a cliff where you can see the beautiful view of the whole place from that point. Jake made it a habit to go there every four in the afternoon to relax, write songs and enjoy peace and quiet.

Jake Madsen, by the way, is a seventeen year old boy senior student, who lives with his mom and his little sister, Alice, which is ten years old. His dad died when he was nine years because of a car accident. All his life, Jake only did was write songs and dreamed to be an international recording artist. He had few friends but he is quite the loner type. He always wanted to be in solitude. Jake is the kind of guy who has style, humor, and the charmer looks. He was quite cute and several girls liked him.

As usual, Jake was with his guitar in the cliff. He had his notebook and a pen beside him. Moments from enjoying the view from the cliff, his phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Jake, it’s your mom.”

“Oh, hey mom! What’s up?” Jake replied while standing up and dusting his pants.

“Where are you?” his mom replied.

“Here in the same place. I’m kind of in a middle of writing a song.”

“Oh. Sorry to disturb but when you go home, kindly pass by the shop and grab for me some grocery. I’ll just text you the list.”

“Sure thing mom. Is that all?”

“Yeah, that’s all. Thanks Jake. Take care, okay?”

“Yeah mom, I will. Bye.” Jake said while sitting back to the grass.

“I love you.”

“I love you too, mom.” Jake replied as he shuts his phone.

He returns his phone to his pocket and grabs his pen, biting it and grabbing his guitar. He strummed some chords, jotting down some lyrics. As the sun went down, he grabbed all his stuff and went home.

On his way home, he went to the grocery store and bought everything his mom texted to him. As he arrives home, he opens up the door and he saw his little sister, Alice who immediately ran for him.

“Jake! You’re home!” Alice said with a big smile in her face.

Jake then swings her then said, “Hey Alice, um, is mom home?”

“Yup, she’s in the kitchen.” Alice replied she headed towards the living room.

Jake then throws his bag anonymously through the floor and directed to the kitchen. He sees her mom chopping up some bell peppers for something she cooked.

“Hi mom!” Jake exclaimed while placing the bags of groceries in the table.

“Hey Jake, welcome home.” His mom replied while reaching for a hug.

Jake kissed her mom and went to the fridge. He opened it and grabbed some ice-cold water. Then he sat down in the middle chair of the table then started drinking.

“Jake, I haven’t seen your grades yet? Do you have them?” his mom asked.

“I have them mom, is just that I don’t think you’ll like it.”

His mom quickly drops the knife.

“And why is that, Jake?” his mom asked with a slightly upper tone.
