"Okay, the Skrulls sim alien races to infiltrate and take over planets." Fury repeated, glancing over at Vers who sat shotgun. "And you're a Kree? A race of noble warriors?"

"Heroes. Noble warrior heroes." She corrected.

Lorelai gave a small laugh. "Modest, noble warrior heroes." She joked, sharing a smile with the other woman.

"So, um, what do Skrulls want with Dr. Lawson?" Fury asked, straight back to business.

"They believe that she developed a light speed engine at Pegasus."

"Light speed engine?" Both agents echoed, Lorelai leaning for from the back seat to fully engage in the conversation.

"Gotta admit that's not the craziest thing I've heard today." Fury muttered.

"Well, it's still early."

Lorelai's grip on Vers' seat tightened as a bolt of pain shot through her head.

"You okay?" the Kree asked, glancing over at her.

The female agent gave her a thumbs up, wincing slightly as she slowly rubbed her head.

"And you, what do you want?" Fury asked.

"To stop the Skrulls before they become unstoppable."

"And?" Lorelai asked, knowing that there was an underlying reason the Kree was here to stop a race of aliens getting their hands on some tech with no back-up.

Vers glanced between the two ages, seemingly reluctant to share whatever she was hiding.

Fury sighed. "Look, war is a universal language. I know a rogue soldier when I see one. You've got a personal stake in this."

Vers remained quiet.

"We're spies, we know how difficult it is to trust others." Lorelai said. "But you can't rule out the fact that you needed our help to get to Pegasus, so maybe we can help in other ways too."

The agent leaned back into her seat as the car slowly pulled up to a secure metal gate.

"This is government property, turn your vehicle around."

Fury sighed, pulling out his badge. "Nicholas Joseph Fury. Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." He informed them, placing his badge closer to the camera.

"Place your thumb on the pad."

"Nicholas Joseph Fury. You have three names?"

Lorelai rolled her eyes, knowing what was coming. "Here it comes." She muttered, ignoring Vers' quizzical look.

"Everybody calls me Fury. Not Nicholas. Not Nick. Just Fury."

"What does your mom call you?"

"Fury."

Lorelai leaned forward. "She actually calls him her little honeybun." she loudly whispered to the Kree, grinning when Fury slowly turned to glare at her behind his sunglasses.

"What do you call her?" Vers asked with a smirk.

"Fury."

"What about your kids?"

"If I have them, they'll call me Fury."

Lorelai was sure the conversation could have continued but thankfully the guard on the speaker informed them that they were cleared for access.

The gate ahead opened slowly and the car rolled in, beginning the climb into the hills where the Pegasus base was hidden from civilian view.

As they neared the base, Lorelai's gut instinct began to tell her that maybe walking into a hidden government base with an alien might not be the best idea.
