Eira's POV
I shook my head, "No, something isn't right. It's been two weeks and he hasn't answered our texts or come back."
"There isn't anything we can do, Eira... all we know about him is he lives in New York city and his family is dangerous. You know if something was wrong, he wouldn't want us to endanger ourselves for him."
"I know that but..." I sighed and Circe put her hand on my shoulder. "I can't get it out of my head that something is wrong. This doesn't feel right."
"It'll be okay, Eira... maybe something happened with his family. Maybe someone passed away and he's mourning."
"Circe could be right, Eira," Noa said.
"What do you think, Finn?"
He was quiet for a moment, "I'm with Eira... something doesn't feel right."
"Well... what should we do?" Circe asked.
Noa stood up, "Okay well let's think about this rationally. If we're really going to go states away to try to find him and if he is in danger or in a bad position, we'll need a plan."
Everyone nodded in agreement and we were silent while we were thinking.
"New York City is really big... just finding him will be hard."
I shook my head, "No, I don't think so. If we can find another magical being and we ask where the Griffin family lives, there is over an eighty percent chance they will know and be able to show us the way."
"If they're willing to. People living especially close to that family might be too frightened to talk about them."
"Noa has a point..."
"Well... do you guys know an easier way? I doubt their address would be anywhere online..."
"Eira, you can teleport, right?"
"Something like that, yeah."
"Why don't you go to New York and ask people? Your way would be faster. You can travel through the light and when you find out where he lives we can all go. After we finish the rest of the plan, obviously."
"All of us going would take too long, I can only take one or two people with me through the light."
"Ok, then we'll think of that with the plan. What should we do once we find him?"
"Once we find him we need to get the balls to go to his house. We could knock on the door or try to find a way to get Arion's attention from outside. But doing the second one is risky because if his parents notice we could be in deep trouble."
"What are we even going to do when we see him?"
"Yeah..."
"Um," I started, "priority is just making sure he's okay. We need to ask him what happened. And... if we can... we need to convince him and his parents that he needs to come back."
Finn fidgeted his hands nervously, "Um... how do we do that?"
"I have no idea."
"That will be really hard, E."
"Okay well, how about this. I'm going to go to New York and see if I can find where he lives. I'll look around and then come back and tell you about it. Then we can make a plan."
"Ok, but be careful... we know Arion is a kind person but his family won't be the same. If they find you snooping and find out you're the counter to their magic, they won't be happy."
I smiled at Circe, "I know, I'll be careful. Promise."
**
"Excuse me, could you direct me to the Griffin Family's house?"
The man widened his eyes at me and then walked past me without uttering a word.
The same thing happened the next ten times I asked someone.
E- This will be harder than I thought. Around a dozen people gave me incredulous looks and then walked right past me.
F- We might have to find a different method
C- What else could we do?
N- There isn't any other way. You just need to keep asking people until you find someone brave enough to tell you
F- Ooh! Or you could find his school and ask someone there! Teenagers would probably be less scared because of rebellion phases and whatnot
E- That's a good idea but I don't know what school he goes to
F- [image]
F- This is the uniform for the school
N- Lol that's so nerdy
C- I think it's cute
E- Okay, I think I'll be able to find it.
E- I'll update you guys later
I downloaded the image and then brought it up on my phone. Gray vests, black jackets, navy blue pants, with a strange crest on them. Shouldn't be too difficult.
I checked the time. 3:00 pm.
The school should have been out so if I searched for the uniform I might have been able to find some people.
The first person I spotted was a small blonde girl with wide eyes.
"Excuse me, could you help me?"
She looked up at me in amazement, making me smile, "S-sure. Are you a magical creature?"
"Yes, I am. And I need help finding the Griffin Family's house."
Her eyes widened, "I'm sorry but I can't help you with that."
Before I had a chance to say anything else she sped past me.
I asked a few more people after that but they all had similar reactions. Finally, I sat down on a bench and let out a big sigh. As I was putting my hair in a bun because I was getting hot, a boy wearing Arion's school uniform sat down on the other side of the bench.
After an internal pep talk, I scooted closer to the boy, "Excuse me, could you help me with some directions?"
He looked at me and scoffed, "Why would I help you?"
I was taken aback.
"Excuse me?"
"You're a magical creature, why would I help you?"
I clenched my teeth.
Those types of humans infuriated me.
"I just want to know where the Griffin Family lives."
He scoffed, "They'd eat you up, sweety."
I glared at him and stood up, "Do not call me 'sweety'. Are you going to tell me where they live or not?"
He rolled his eyes, "No need to get so pissed. 711 St. Paul Street. I gotta warn you though, with that light look you have... they would not be happy to see you near their house."
I gave him another glare, "Thank you for the address."
With that, I turned around and began to walk away.
I put the address in my phone and I was about to go back to Cassiopea's when I saw a familiar mop of black hair.
I put my phone in my pocket and ran to him, "Arion!"
He looked back at me and I saw it was him. His eyes widened, probably from the shock of seeing me in New York. But then he did something I didn't think he'd do. He ran away from me.
"Arion, wait! It's me!"
I followed him down the street and I saw him turn but once I got to where he was, I saw it was a dark alleyway. He was probably back at his house. Darn it.
Why did he run away?
