Kuroo stood proudly in front of his brand new cafe. He was [insert Kuroo's future job here] , but he always had a hobby in baking, and this was going to just be a side thing.
He slipped into the kitchen and got all the things he needed, cream cheese, milk, butter, and everything else.
From outside, he heard a customer ring the bell.
"Hello? This is the new cheesecake cafe, right?"
"Yes! Welcome!" Kuroo came out and slid the cheesecakes into the display.
"I'd like one cheesecake, please." said the customer, meeting eyes with Kuroo. Kuroo found him somewhat strange. He held his phone in one hand, swiping in seemingly random directions. His blonde-tipped hair was messily tied into a bun.
"Your total is 1225 yen." Kuroo set one on the counter and waited. "Err...are you going to pay?"
"Oh! Yes, sir. How much?"
'I just said it...' Kuroo thought, sweatdropping.
"1225 yen, but I'll give you a 20% discount because you're my first customer."
"Then I'll take two." the customer held up two fingers with the hand not holding the phone.
"Sure! What's the occasion, if you don't mind me asking?"
"A corporate meeting."
"Oh! That's pleasant." Kuroo wrapped up the two boxes and handed them to the man.
"Thank you."
"Have a good day!" Kuroo waved.

"Welcome! Oh, it's you again." Kuroo smirked at the small pudding-headed man.
"One cheesecake slice."
"What brings you back?" Kuroo sliced up a cake and set one on a platter.
"They tasted good..." he said quietly.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it!" Kuroo said.
"You're Kuroo Tetsurou, right?" the man asked.
"The one and only!" Kuroo smirked.
"I'm Kozume."
"Kozume?"
"Kozume Kenma."
"You're the CEO of that Bouncing Ball company, right? And that applepi guy, on YouTube."
"Yeah, don't repeat things I already know. Exposition is painfully boring." Kozume scowled.
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Kozume-kun~" cooed Kuroo.
"Kenma, please."
"Are we that close? Glad you think so highly of me."
"Shut up. It's fine."
"HEYY HEYYY HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"
"Bokubro, hey! Who's the new guy?"
"My new boyfriend~" Bokuto said dreamily. "He's pretty, right?"
Kuroo pondered about whether to say yes or no. If he said yes, Bokuto would probably incorrectly assume Kuroo was out for his boy. If he said no, Bokuto would likely get angry and say that he was very pretty and that Kuroo just had terrible taste. Kuroo decided on neither, and stayed silent.
"His name is Akaashi Keiji! Akaashi, this is Kuroo." Bokuto wrapped a muscular arm around Kuroo, laughing. "Even his name is pretty..."
"Hello, Kuroo. It's nice to meet you. " Akaashi said politely, sitting down.
"Same! What can I get for you two?" Kuroo bowed his head.
"Two cheesecake slices, please-"
"We're on a date!" Bokuto proclaimed, interrupting his raven-haired partner.
Akaashi flushed red. "Bokuto!" he whispered, giving Kenma a nervous glance. "There are other people here!"
"Eh. It's not like I care." Kenma piped up.

Today, Kuroo was taking in his first apprentices.
"Hello. My name is Tsukishima Kei."
"Thank you for teaching me your art! My name is Hinata Shoyo!"
"My name is Haiba Lev! I too share the feelings that my comrades Tsukishima Kei and Hinata Shoyo do! Thank you kindly for teaching us the amazing and elegant art of making jiggly castella cheesecake!"
"Why're you staring at me?" he blinked. Tsukishima snickered.
"I'll ignore it." Kuroo waved his hand, dismissing the issue. "Now, the first thing you two will do-"
"Baking!" Lev cheered.
"-is waiting on the customers."
"WHAT?" Hinata cried.
"You two really are dumb." Tsukishima said.
"HAAH?" they exclaimed in unison, glaring at the blonde.
"You heard me right. I've got a couple regulars, Kenma, Bokuto, and Akaashi." Kuroo reached into a filing cabinet and pulled out three files. "These are their profiles. Study up and serve them when they come in."
"You keep a profile on all of your customers?" Lev asked, taking the files.
"Only the regulars. And it's just things like their favourite pastry, hobbies... I've got nothing too personal about them."
"Can we keep the files, sir?" Tsukishima asked.
"Sir, eh?" Kuroo grinned. "But sure, keep it. Give it back once you've memorized it, though."

Anyways, the headcanon behind this chapter is that Kuroo has a side hobby of baking, and he opened a store that sells Japanese cheesecakes, and it accidentally blew up and now he runs Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake Store.
