Chapter 5- Trapped?

Hey guys! This chapter may seem a little wierd, so please try to have a really vivid imagination! Lots of action in this chapter. Anyways...

I wake up to a loud banging on my door. I lazily stand up from my comfy bed and walk over to the door to find a tired-looking Moises, still in his pj's.

"Sis we have to go right now. Dad left early this morning and he got in a car accident. His car rolled over 3 times because of the snow and ice on the roads. I have to go to-"

"Wow wait hold up. Snow? In May? In LA? Wtf?" How can it be snowing in this month in this place? Taking in all the words moises had said, I realize he said dad was in an accident. I start crying, my eyes and cheeks burning. The thought of losing my dad one a week after seeing him after three years is unbearable.I can't believe it. How?

"Yeah, apparently it's a cold front, and it is snowing like crazy out there," seeing my face, Moises indulges me in his arms. I shiver under his arms as I cry, scared of what will happen to my dad . "Hey sis, calm down, he'll be ok, but for the moment I need you to help me on something. I just got a call from Jaden. He said that he was on his way here, and a car slipped and hit him on the side of his car," my heart started beating a million times faster. First my dad and now Jaden? Could anything get worse? "Fortunetly, it was only a minor hit, and he is ok. But, he slid into a ditch, and now his car is stuck. I need you to go pick him up, carefully. Before you came here, I bought you some tires that reduce the chances of losing control on ice. Can you pick him up and bring him here while I go check on dad at the hospital? Nikki, I really need your help right now. Mateo is busy helping his girlfriend get her car out of her driveway, so no one else can do this. Will you help me?" Moises asked. A million thoughts raced through my head. Was dad ok? What would happen if I slid off the road? Would I be able to manage to drive through the snow without getting trapped? And since when does Mateo have a girlfriend? Anyways, my dad is in danger, and I am willing to do anything to help him.

"Yes."

"Then go get changed, fast. He just texted me again and said that his heater doesn't work and he is freezing."

"Ok." With that, I closed my room door and started changing. Five mins. later I am already in my car. I start driving, and went to the highway Moises had texted me. There, I find a black Dodge Charger trapped in at least 3 ft. of snow. Inside there is Jaden, freezing to death. When he sees me he runs out of his car and into mine.

"Hey, are you ok?" I asked.

"Yeah, just a little freaked out." His voice is shaky and almost completely inaudible.

After that, we drive in silence, for a few miles. About a mile before an intersection, we started spinning in circles on true ice. When the spinning stops, I open my eyes to find us in a ditch, stuck in snow.

"Crap! Now we're going to have to stay here. And my stupid phone isn't working. Does yours work?" I tried turning of my phone and turning it back on, yet it is no use. My phone has absolutely no service, so I can't call Moises.

"Nope. Alright just stay calm. Someone will eventually come help us." Jaden has a deep, soothing voice that helps calm me down.

Jaden's POV

I was feeling it again. Butterflies. I was in a car with the girl I had met a week ago, yet I felt an instant connection between us. I can't help but think about a future in which we date. Naa, you can't date her, she's your bestfriends' sister. Plus, she is way out of your league. Sure, she is Mateo and Moises' sister, but I don't care, I still want to date her. Interrupting my daydreaming, Nicole asks a question. "Kylie is great, isn't she?" Nicole says, with a hint of sadness. Does she like me? But if she does, if I were to tell her what I did when we were at the mall, she will probably hate me.

"Yeah, I guess. She's just a little annoying sometimes." I say.

"Yeah, kinda... but she is really nice." Nicole says.

"Nicole... I know I just met you a week ago, but I think I like like you..." I have to put it out there. What if she likes me? .

"Jaden... I like you too. But what about Kylie? She is really sweet and I don't want her to get hurt.

"About that. I asked Kylie out just to be nice, and so I would have someone to distract my attention from you. I broke up with her when I got home from the mall a week ago, so please, do you want to go on a date with me?" I can't believe that I just said it. But everything is true. I looked over at Nicole and see her eyes light up with happines, but then her expression changes. She looks as if she is going to murder me. Uh-oh.

"How could you do that to her! She doesn't deserve to be treated like that! Ugh, I can literally just choke you right now!" She lunged towards me but I grasp her hand right before she reaches me. Our faces were centimeters apart. I can't help but stare at her perfection. "I'm sorry Nicole, I know I was stupid for doing that to her, but I don't like her... I like you."

"But how, how is it possible that we like each other, if we just met? But honestly, if you truly want to, I guess we can go on a small date..." Her words put a huge smile on my face showing off my dimples. "Really? Yay!!" I start doing a little happy dance and I kiss Nicole. I realize what I just did, but I decide to just roll with it. We slowly part, and I look into her beautiful brown eyes. I smile at her, and then she leans into kiss me again, gently grasping my defined jaw. She starts kissing me. The kiss continues for a minute, and she pulls away and stares at me. I pull her into my seat and indulge her small body in my arms, and she rests her head on my chest. We stay like this for about 5 minutes, until we hear a knock on the window. I crawl back into the drivers seat, and open the window. I both look up to see a middle-aged police officer with a stern expression on his face.

"I'm with the LAPD. Are you guys ok? What happened?"

"We're fine. My boyfriend's car got stuck in the snow a few miles back and I picked him up, and when I was driving, the car started spinning and I couldn't control it."

"Hmm. Ok. May I see your license please?" says the officer. I hand him my license, and he examines it closely.

"Oh, I see you're not from here. When did you arrive here Ms. Arias?"

"A week ago, and I plan on living here. I know I need to change my license to this state, so I'll do it as soon as I can."
"Ok. So kid," he says, motioning to Jaden, "which car is yours?"

"A black Dodge Charger."

"I'm sorry, but you car was badly damaged after another car impacted it. Right now we are towing cars stuck in ditches. So we'll get you out as soon as possible. I need you to please step out of the car," says the officer.

I nod my head at the officer, and look over at Jaden. We both walk out of the car. The officer and the towing man tells us that they might take a while, so we are welcome to sit in the police car. We walk over to the car, and step into the back. Jaden has a worried look on his face.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing," he says, and wraps me in his arms. "By the way, you called me your boyfriend," he said, flashing his pearly white teeth.

"Whaaaaaat? No I didn't... It was just your imagination," I say, sticking my tongue out at him. He starts laughing, and kisses my forehead.

"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asks.

"What? Naa, you're too ugly," I say, and escape from his hug. As I do this, he dramatically puts his hand on his chest as if he were greatly offended.

"Fine," he says,"I didn't want to date you anyway," he says, turning towards his window. I start laughing. I slowly lean towards him and I grab his arms and put them around me.

"I would love to be your girlfriend," I say. He looks down at me and links our fingers together.
