Harry is a really strange guy, but I like him. I couldn’t help but laugh at him, at the way he took forever to say something, or his stupid hat. He was hilarious without even meaning to be. But I assure you, I was laughing with him…ultimately. I really did think he was a cool guy; he was just quirky.
Even the way he was nodding along to my telling of how Connie and I met, I couldn’t help but chuckle.
“We talked on the phone a couple times. I didn’t get why Bucky kept pushing me on the phone with her but, I wasn’t exactly objecting.” He smirked and went on nodding. “Then she got here and showed up on my door step and it was like—”
“Infatuation at first sight.”
I paused. “That’s a good word. Yeah. It was infatuation at first sight.”
“That’s nice.”
“What about you? Do you have a girlfriend?”
He shrugged, “Not really. We’re just hanging out right now, but she’s cool.” Huffing out a laugh, he shook his head and rested his elbows on his knees. “She looks like Belle from Beauty and the Beast.”
“And I’ve got Jasmine. Bucky has fucking Cinderella over there.” We both laughed a little and I put my foot up on the coffee table. “We could have our own Disneyworld.”
“Are you implying that I’m the beast?”
I suddenly burst into laughter, “Didn’t they curl his hair? You look like him with curled hair.”
He frowned, looking like he was trying his best to recall if that actually happened in the movie. “I do not look like the beast.” He grumbled, trying to hide his amused smirk.
“Yeah, you’re beautiful, mate.” He both chuckled again before I heard the front door open, and Connie came shuffling in with Archie in one arm and her dance bag slung over her other shoulder. “Hey, angel.” I called.
She looked towards me with a smile but it slipped when her eyes moved to Harry. I looked at him too, seeing he stood now, running a hand through his hair. “Hey Constipation.” I looked back to Connie to see her roll her eyes as she set Archie on the floor.
“What were you two, on a date?” She teased, walking towards the back of the couch.
“Yeah,” Harry and I said at the same time.
She rolled her eyes again. “I’m going to take a sho…uh…” she glanced at Harry. “To change. Are you staying for dinner Hairspray?” He nodded. “Okay, cool. I’ll be back.” She went over to give him a half hug before retreating up the stairs.
Harry sighed and sat down again. “She’s been stressed from work lately.” I explained.
“Yeah?”
I nodded, about to continue until Archie suddenly landed in my lap, making me flinch to make sure he didn’t knee me in the goods. “Hey buddy! How was day care?” I asked him, kissing his forehead.
“I fell off the swing.” He pouted, pulling up his pant leg to show me that plaster covering his knee. “It hurt really bad.”
“Oh no.” I rubbed my thumb over his plaster. “But you’re all good now. Did you cry?”
“No…”
I smiled, “You’re all big and brave, huh?”
“I would’ve cried,” Harry piped in. Archie looked at him and flat out laughed, making Harry shake his head. “You Horans. All you do is laugh at me.”
