"Darcy! Let's get you ready" I call to my 2 year old sitting in her playpen.
"Dad-dy"
"Yes-ie"
"Mum-my" she frowns.
"We're going to pick mummy up from the airport Darc!" I exclaim with a smile on my face, putting on her little ugg boots.
"Mummy!"
"Almost, baby"
"Mummy now!" She sighs.
"Mummy in about half an hour!"
She peers up at me, confused and I just kiss her nose which makes her giggle.
Strapping her into her car seat I make the short drive to the airport while singing 'moments' to Darcy because it's her favourite song.
"Ready baby girl?" I ask. Pulling her out of her car seat and lifting her onto my hip.
We make our way to the arrivals loung to wait for (y/n) to come in from her 2 day business trip.
"Mummy mummy mummy!!!" Darcy shouts as she sees (y/n) walking down the staires of the plane.
"Shh Darc, mummy's coming" I whisper bending down and playing with her ponytail that I somehow managed to do.
We head out to the hall and Darcy spots (y/n) before I do as she took off running.
"Darcy! Get back her" I call after her trying to avoid running into people.
When I see where she is, (y/n) already has her in her arms kissing her blonde curls.
"Baby I've missed you!" She says, hugging Darcy tightly.
"Missed you mummy" Darcy says, burying her face in (y/n)'s coat.
"Babe" I breathe, out of breath "I swear she's gonna be some runner, she took off"
(Y/n) shakes her head and laughs while leaning over to kiss me.
"I think I've missed you more" I pout when she pulls away.
"Later babe" she winks and starts walking with Darcy to the exit while I'm left pulling the suitcase along.
I can't wait for later 😉
